Chris ReinhardtParticipant
David, that’s really, really strange, I have not seen that in any other forum.

I wouldn’t suggest putting any kind of heat into the chassis, you might change some of the properties of the metals…. ie, anneal it….
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantI guess we haven’t got around to this bug? I just went through my settings and under “messages” You have an option for

Chris ReinhardtParticipantIf it’s regarding WKA rules, I believe all the tech tool dimensions are in the 2 cycle section of the rule book…
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipant
Most important also is not to get distracted before you are finished with all four wheels! Don’t ask me how I know the last one …………O
LOL
Chris ReinhardtParticipantI have my trusty Makita 9.6v 3/8 drive I have been using for years. The problem I run into is on the rear wheels where you have to use a long socket to reach the inside. I find that socket sucks up most of the torque, and seems to work fine on the fronts as well…
From what I can find on the web about that old impact, they say 600in/lbs, so 50ft/lbs, probably 1/2 that through the socket.
Now on a magnesium wheel, I wouldn’t run them up with an impact, I would most likely either torque wrench them on or at least a “T” handle, so you can feel the torque….
Chris ReinhardtParticipantJim, you can’t run the Hoosiers on 5″ wide wheels… If you mount them on your 5’s, you will see how much tire hangs off the side, not good.
6″ wides are a pain to locate….
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantThat’s awesome Gene, thanks!!!!
Chris ReinhardtParticipantShockwave has been out of business probably 2 years now….

Chris ReinhardtParticipantI just wanted to let everyone know that for 2014 ESK will wave any membership fees.
I will setup something on the ESK website so people can sign up, this way I will everybodies contact info for rules, updates, points, etc…
The only credentials that will be required at these events is a WKA Enduro license.
Thanks,

Chris ReinhardtParticipantGold Kart was a Righetti Ridolfi product I believe and was imported by John’s Kart Shop in Chicago that is no longer. John has setup shop in Nashville as Kart Warehouse, he would be the guy to talk to here in the states…
I see Righetti picked up the All Kart name, and is building chassis, not sure what exactly they are….
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantMake sure the pads are good and the fluid is fresh and bled well, you should have no issues. You might smoke through pads quickly…..
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantYes you can go with a cookie cutter CR250 and blend in, or you can be a little bit different….
I doubt properly adjusted/working brakes would not be enough, we run a 2 piston front and 4 piston rear Brembo’s on the Cobalt Superkart, 5″ tires might be a limiting factor…..
Like I said on shifter forum, a CRF250 might be a better fit and also better performance on a sprint track…
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantToo big? Naaaah!
Depends on what you want to do??? On a sprint track it won’t beat a good 125 in the same chassis, but they’re a blast to drive!!!
I build Cobalt Superkart chassis, and I put the 450’s exactly in the same place as the 250’s, and they balance perfect. Balance left to right is pretty important, but that being said if it’s a lot easier to mount the motor offset to get the seat to work, then you can adjust around it.
A CRF250 would b a better match for a 125 chassis…

Chris ReinhardtParticipant
Kill switch on a shifter? ~A
Ever try stalling a motor at 100mph when the throttle is stuck wide open?
Chris ReinhardtParticipantNo problem, look forward to seeing you at the races….
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantInstead of driving yourself crazy (pun intended) call up VP and find out where the nearest dealer is and be done with it. VP C12 or similar will answer all your problems…

Chris ReinhardtParticipantTodd, if you’re talking about that pinch bolt on the cassette, the only way that would cause a bind is if the bearings are miss-aligned. When the kart gets back on track, the bearings will find their alignment.
It’s very difficult to judge how tight the cassettes are around the bearings unless they are in your hand. When they are in your hand they should NOT be loose, but able to move freely with a little resistance. You’ll get the idea when you feel them in your hand.
Hope that helps….

What kind of motor do you have? Thanks for the input James. I have a stock CR125 running F125 autox primarily. Generally there is not a supply of race gas avbl at these event, hence the attraction of this stuff for convenience.
You would have to find out first off if it will pass your tech. Generally speaking, if they have a fuel tech at these events any oxygenated fuel will not pass including 93 octane pump fuel. That additive also contains an oxygenate, a big no no for any org. If all that is cool, (not likely) then it will be a try and see what happens kinda deal. Test it for a couple of runs, pull the plug and check for deto, pull the head and do a piston check….NO MATTER WTF I DO, THE QUOTE BUTTON DOESN’T WORK CORRECTLY!!!!!!
Chris ReinhardtParticipantDon, you’re welcome, good luck….
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantThere isn’t a 125 anything that ever made 60hp…. Depends on what you want to do.
CR
Chris ReinhardtParticipantOK, that looks better….
Chris ReinhardtParticipant
Seems to work fine here. Just a little styling tweak I’d like to see made is to put a background color and border around the quoted text. Just to help readability a little bit. See the example that I have below.
The CSS code I used was..
blockquote.d4pbbc {<br>
padding: 4px;<br>
background-color: #EBE9E9;<br>
border: 1px solid #D5D5D5;<br>
margin-bottom: 1em;<br>
}
Lets try this one more time….Chris ReinhardtParticipant
