Put boards under the chassis and sit down with the seat and slide it around and tilt until you find a good spot. Then mark the seat struts with a sharpy and drill. Then put it on the scales and check for 50-50 side to side and 45-55 front to back.

Walt GiffordParticipantThere’s a nascar dad born every minute and they have a special spark plug for them.

Walt GiffordParticipantIs the race at NJMP being run by the people at Englishtown? What are the entry fees?
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantStill looking.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantYou don’t need karting school, just go to the track and drive it.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantAny high quality racing oil from a kart shop will work just fine but use a ratio of 16:1 which is 8 ounces per gallon of gas which can simply be high test from the gas station.
Castor oil should not be used below 50 degrees F. The best oil I have found for all engines and conditions is Red Line Two Stroke Kart Oil.

Walt GiffordParticipantI just use a long 5/16″ allen wrench in the starter nut. You can tell if it has enough compression when you prop it over.
MM
Walt GiffordParticipantIt’s a different kind of drive. With the 4 hole it’s smooth steady just hold the gas down and steer. With the pipe it’s a jerky ride on and off the power where the kart wants to jump out from under you.

Walt GiffordParticipantNJMP ??? it’s nothing but sand and weeds.
Walt GiffordParticipantThat’s great but I was talking more about the sprint track.
Walt GiffordParticipantThe go kart track is probably for rentals and you’ll be hard pressed to get an organized race in there. Been there done that.

Walt GiffordParticipantSteve, use any high quality grease made for automotive bearings. https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/8110295/00052
Don’t pack them totally full or grease will leak out of the seal when it gets hot.

Walt GiffordParticipant
Point was simply to get racer’s buy-in first, then the class, not other way round.
You want people to buy a kart and engine package for a class that doesn’t exist? Does that ever work? The advise I see all the time for a newb is to go to the local track and see what’s being run.

Walt GiffordParticipantSenior Can
Walt GiffordParticipantGo to a motor cycle shop with your scale.
Walt GiffordParticipantThat RR system looks allot like CRG Ven05
Walt GiffordParticipantAnytime you retrofit a brake system you have to consider the mounting bolt spacing, spacing for the rotor and interference from frame members. I would think the TopKart would use the euro system.
I like MCP because you can get them everywhere and they’re always gonna be around. I have the euro system on my Margay and the standard system on my Coyote and very happy with both.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantPersonally I would go with all MCP.
