Maybe the tires fell over and trapped him in the garage.

Walt GiffordParticipantMix the blend 1/2 and 1/2 with the castor and you’re good to go.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantHas anyone heard from him? Marc you’ve got PM.
Walt GiffordParticipantThey are allowing teams on a budget to use their old tires.

Walt GiffordParticipantI really don’t think you can gauge an engine builder by volume.
Dave, the KT100 user formula has been well sorted out on these forums (EKN Classic). Once you have those numbers you’ll need little or no support except for overhaul which can be done by any competent shop that services the KT100. It’s less political than you might think.Walt GiffordParticipantNever use gasoline to clean anything unless you’re ready for your hands to catch on fire. That’s basic shop safety. Dish washing liquid and hot water works just fine.
Walt GiffordParticipantI just tell them picture an elephant on a roller skate going highway speeds in a walmart parking lot.

Walt GiffordParticipantI volunteer Al Nunly.
Walt GiffordParticipantAnyone with money can join WKA. I suggest you join and get the rule book for a better understanding of the class structure and safety requirements.

Walt GiffordParticipantYou might want to call Coyote Kart in NY. They make a 50mm kart that uses MCP brakes. They might have a bracket that would bolt right on to your bearing cassette.
Walt GiffordParticipantIt sounds like you over tightened the pinch bolt and cracked the aluminum cassette? You only want to snug those but use some loctite so they don’t back out (unless it’s a bolt and nyloc nut). Put everything together loose, slide the axle through, snug the pinch bolt then tighten the three cassette bolts to the frame hanger.
Don’t feel bad some of these kart components are poorly designed and made of crap metal. Yes, the bolt pattern is generally universal but be careful what you’re buying. The best stuff is made from 7075-T6 but some are made from easy cutting screw machine stock.

Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantAnyone try these things yet?
Walt GiffordParticipantIf you’re new to the sport leave lots of room and survive the first turn, you’ll have more fun that way.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantWhat happens after 12 seconds, does it get too hot?
Walt GiffordParticipantJust slow down BEFORE the turn.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantIf you press harder on the brakes it will lock the rear axle and there will be less friction and heat between pads and disk, just lift before your engine clutch lets go or your motor won’t re-start.
The other thing you can try is just stop riding the brakes so far into the turn.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantThe K might mean the bearing had a tapered bore at one point then was reworked for a straight bore. Anyway, you want a bearing that’s flat on one side. Check the link.

Make sure you check the width. Just put them on and don’t try to clean and lube them with lighter oil. The factory grease will keep the balls from clutching on the straight and provide the best lube when cornering. The seals will keep the dirt out for years. I use axle collars on both sides of the left bearing and only lightly snug the set screws with some loctite to keep the inner race turning with the axle. That’s it.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantWhy do they call a bean bag toss a cornhole game? I don’t get it.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantLooks like a bunch of random numbers and letters.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantThat’s the charm of karting, it’s an exotic sub culture hidden from the unwashed masses.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantThought about doing the V thing (side to side) but too much potential damage to karts and truck. I just got a little trailer from Harbor freight.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantLooks like the 5″ tire sets have 3.60″ fronts. Might be interesting to try on a clone kart. They have a 4.50 but in a different compound with no rear tires and the UN-515 looks to be something for the vintage karts. The other tires on that page are 6″.
I hope that max inflation number is the recommended running max, it would be hard to bead a tire at 20psi.

Walt GiffordParticipant
A little more reading on the site reveals that a sub of unilli makes them – the acme corp. no, I’m not kidding.
Then they should work great on my Coyote kart so I can catch the road runner.
Walt GiffordParticipantThat cost more than my whole kart!
