A good front end alignment starts with getting the rear axle straight and level with the frame. If you don’t have rear plates you’ll need two rear tires that are the same rollout. You also need a surface that’s flat and level.

You could put a 12t on the clutch and/or a bigger rear gear and it should be set to the lowest lock up for yard use. 250 after 20 min don’t sound too bad.

If you have a hard high speed braking zone, the rear of the kart might go all wonky without the middle axle bearing depending on the track and traction you might flip.

I’ve never bought a used kart that didn’t need allot of work to bring it up to aircraft standards. It’s not that people are scammers they’re just not the best mechanics. Get pics of the bottom. If the frame rails are good everything else can be fixed.
