Walt GiffordParticipant
If you slam head on hard enough to hurt your chest your legs will be broke anyway.

Walt GiffordParticipantTake out the pinch bolt and tap a screw driver into the split line to spread it and it will slide off easily. Use a piece of flat wood to tap the end of the axle even if using a mallet, very easy to bend the end of an axle. The axle needs to be free of any high metal a small fine file followed by fine sand paper works then clean it good. Don’t hone a hole with a keyway.

Walt GiffordParticipantLike karting wasn’t expensive enough.

Walt GiffordParticipantAfter installation and the cases cool, can you feel some play on the inner race? Are you using C4 fit? When you put the bearing in do you weight it down with a big aluminum block to keep the bearing cool and seated? The hot case can push the bearing up. There is supposed to be a hole that connects the transfer passage with the space between the bearing and the crank seal, is it open? This draws lube through the bearing from differential of pressures. After you run it on track does it still have end play in the crank? The bearings could be drifting out of the pockets. Do you have a bent axle or sprocket that could be jerking the engine shaft, does your chain pulsate are your tires balanced, frame cracked? Pull the spark plug and crank the motor over fast and listen for any metallic clank, piston hitting something. Does the piston twist going up and down? Sorry for the unicorns I ran out of zebras.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantYou want wheels that are 1″ wider than your tires. Don’t worry about the roll out, RPM is controlled by changing the rear sprocket.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantYour guru needs more meditation. The balls rotate in their own spaces. If you’ve blown 50 engines I’d try something different.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantIt’s like all star wrestling all balls no cage. lol, I think you have to make them, that’s what I did.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantClamp the pin in a big vise then twist a little and pull hard.
What engine is it, some pins were not meant to come out.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantGo to full compliment.

Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantI always thought the brake disk and 3rd bearing in the center would be a much better set up but, apparently it doesn’t matter for some reason.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantDave, I did miss that sorry, sent a PM.
Thanks,
GifWalt GiffordParticipantmaybe they can tell me who my 15 notifications are from.
Walt GiffordParticipantModified rotax class, I’m trying to think of anything more expensive.
Walt GiffordParticipantOn an inertia dyno all you have to do is change gears being mindful of the wheels max speed of course.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantI’ve got 15 notifications, are people trying to contact me and can’t?
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantHow much of a gap is there? Does the pedal feel solid once the brakes lock? Did you try setting the linkage for faster travel? Do you have allot of experience bleeding brakes? It’s easy to get air trapped in the system.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantA tenth of what?
Walt GiffordParticipantThe 50mm allows you to use a more flexible axle. Not necessary unless your track is very sticky like in Europe.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantWas there a prize for the most crashes?
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantNJMP doesn’t run the rentals on the full track because it’s too much stress and wear on the engines to have them at high rpm that long.
It is what it is, glad they have practice/club racing there at all.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipant
The reason that racers continue to cling the can to their hearts and reject the SR-Y combo is a total mystery to me.
I think you might be reading something into my question.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantMore stuff comes in through your tank vent than you might realize. Use the walbro filter, do not use an automotive filter with premix. A small air bubble in the filter is not a problem. You can orient the filter vertical to remove the air if you want.
Gif
Walt GiffordParticipantI was just wondering if the vendor somehow knew I found them from EKN so they know the ad is working.
