This will be the last bit of advise I ever give on these forums. There’s a difference between being safe and being lucky. Post what you want after this I’m gone.

I would be ready to get two 30mm body clamps and cut that front cross bar so you can remove for LO206 then replace for tag.

Since you’re new I’ll tell you, the wheel hubs need to be pushed all the way in until they seat on the end of the axle or you risk losing a wheel and possibly killing someone. If you need to move them out to get your 55″ track width they make spacers but there are limits to how far you can safely space them out depending on how long your hubs are.

Next, if you have the type of hubs where the axle can go all the way through, you need to leave a 1/4″ of axle sticking through to center the wheel.

I had a customer break allot of those 10th gears on the TD23-3 and lost him the championship. They made the gear thinner so you can press in a full size bushing and not have to ream it. The 11th is ok but you can’t get the gear ratio you need for Sandy Hook. Sell it or keep it for a longer track.

I have 2 clones and one is on the kart ready to go so, on some level I like that idea. The problem is there are so many stock appearing modified clones out there that you would need a heavy tech inspection and I don’t see that happening anywhere save Englishtown maybe. Honestly I don’t think people will get into LO206 if they see money pit clones in it. I’m using mine for practice days at Millville.

John, Don’t have a WKA rule book yet, what’s the weight and clutch for LO206? I’ll be down there this year for the Legends class but I can bring a second kart for LO206.

BTW, I don’t think they make the YHC anymore did you mean the YLC?

It’s not just about area, it also has to do with the frequency and strength of pulsations. That’s why an airbox makes it quieter, it breaks up the main pulse wave.

Well I got ahead of myself, I thought WKA allowed both body styles maybe not?

Where are you getting your info from NJMP? All I know is they open mar 7 and they no longer have the affordable 1/2 day practice session.

You should allow any chassis any body work and any tire and rat karts if you want to pull people from the four corners.

Alex, that Corsair kart looks like a $1500 kart to me and a deal at $500. These days there are so many after market kart parts you can find replacement parts or parts that can be easily retro fitted for anything. Don’t let that scare you off anyway. I’ve been karting for 41 years and I’ve never needed track side support and very rarely bent anything. It’s all in how you drive.

Let me know if you don’t want it because for $500 I’ll buy it, put an engine on it race it all year then sell it for $1500.

Hey, I’m just tryin’ to find out what the deal is. I understand karting the way it was in 01 when I won a track championship without touching anyone. I also won a rental kart championship in 11 where we were all plowing into each other at high rates of speed with the race director and flag man pointing and laughing at every wreck. Karting runs the gambit. If you’re telling me these guys are so closely matched they have to bump and grind on each other, I can see why they are upset about the new system. It’s just not my idea of clean racing. YMMV

I would look for a KT100 package that’s been raced with everything you need (mount, clutch, exhaust, airbox ect) to bolt on and go. Make sure it’s a new style cylinder. I would expect to pay 800-900 at most.

Millville is still like the wild west on the competition kart side after all these years. Basically they are a rental kart track that gets a new manager that changes everything every couple of years. What they’re doing is the best kept secret in karting. If you go there and security won’t let you in don’t give up right away, just keep talking and asking question and maybe tell them you have a meeting at the kart track and they will let you in after a while if you sign a couple of release forms and give a pint of blood. I only go there to practice and I try to reduce my contact with staff while I’m there. If you do get out on the track keep your head up and watch out for golf carts crossing the racing line. They are ok for the nj sprint series because Englishtown runs the show that day. Did I mention their fees are higher than other tracks. Other than that they’re ok.

Alex, there are no LO206 racers in NJ. LO206 is a great class and I wish one would get going around here. If you get one they will let you run in the catch all class and they will make a new LO206 class if we get 5 guys to come out. If you want an LO206 don’t go on ebay, get one from this shop that sets them up for racing http://www.carlsonmotorsports.com/

The best way to go right now imho, get the $500 chassis and put a yamaha KT100 on it for some great racing at Englishtown in the sportsman class. Stay away from Rotax or Tag.

Maybe they wouldn’t be top drivers if they didn’t use the chrome shoe horn so much.

I’m a fan of reality TV. I saw the show for the first time last night. All I can say is it totally lacked content and the small amount of content it did have was just some shallow emotional stuff and TopKart branding. I kept watching because I’m into karts but, I felt I had wasted my time.

If it’s that loose buy a new one. If it’s the unit I’m thinking of they are a poorly designed and dangerous piece of junk IMHO. If that little adjuster nut fails you loose all brakes. I wouldn’t use one. The one I designed is a simple block of aluminum that holds the brake rods and you adjust the front rod with a jam nut. You can’t set the bias on the fly but it won’t fail either.
