They ran power valves on the 250 GP bikes, same cylinders as the 125’s. They made more than 2x the power of the 125’s….

The only limiting factor with respect to the exhaust port is how wide you can make it before the ring falls in and the piston chews up…

BTW the 125’s got a 7 kilo weight break also…

Mal, the only restriction “by design” on a moto-x motor is the intake track is turned to ovoid the rear shock. That was eliminated with the cut cases and straight intake boots.

The later RS’s design benefits from a balance shaft, and programmable ignition that’s where a lot of hidden power comes from, and from what I see with respect to the KZ’s, that’s not allowed, and or implemented…

And again…. If you could have 75hp in a KZ package that would great, but they are designed to run around a 1/2 sprint track, so they have to be drivable also… That’s kind of what happen to 2 stroke MX bikes, they make more power for the size, but the 4 strokes have a better power band, which equals faster laps, which equals wins…

Aaaah, nice combo square bore and stroke instead of the over square long stroke stocker….. Must be good for a couple of R’s up top along with some ponies!!!!

Congrats Ian, good luck with the new powerplant!!!

The jug for EVO, is that the same jug as SK?

If it works it works, but the 99 curve was better.. The 98’s had that goofy one year only plugs…
No, only karts with front brakes “require” dual master cylinders. Way better if front brakes were required on everything…
Depends on what we’re talking about here… WKA Road racing DOES require a dual system braking on ALL Karts, either front/rear or dual system for rear only. I believe they carried that out to the sprint series as well, but I don’t have a current rule book in front of me.
Might help under heavy braking if you have front brakes. It would also help the front not to flex back only up and down. Weather that helps anything I don’t know. With two joints it could be said to be a moveable chassis component. Might need them on the rear axle with a bearing on one end lol. Gif
They both look like Heims to me… There would be very little deflection rigidity on a 12mm aluminum rod… What happens when a corner is deflected upward, the distance from that rear point is increased. That handle at the back has a set screw at the top. It looks like they can limit the amount each corner deflects with that adjustment. It’s working like the front torsion bar, but can be micro tuned…..
Let’s see. Most karters lament that karts are getting overly complicated. For the most part, I agree. So, regardless of whether or not it works, I’d rather not see it gain wide acceptance.
Two tie rods and handle to tighten them is complicated? If it’s effective, sounds like one the easiest adjustments you can make….

I believe even a single rear rotor Briggs, require a dual master as well…

Not a good idea for a single master….

Justin, download Ian’s PDF files, it’s priced both way it seems, but if I understand the pricing, looks cheaper if Ian builds for you with all new pieces…

Looks like a solid 3rd, not bad for a brand new motor…

    I do alright…. :)

That FRYSKY stuff would bring the price down, check out some of Turnigy or Orange radios also, rather than that DX you have…

Bob, either have the conversation here or in a PM, please don’t do both….

    Doesn’t the FRYSKY read Celsius? 1200F = 649C 3 digits….

Eagle Tree stuff your using cool…. Similar to what I posted, I’m sure you have to adapt your own EGT sensors….

You should go full FPV, maybe hook up motors to the steering and drive it remotely also!!!!

It’s all cool stuff, just a little bit over the top for karting…. Maybe you could find a motorcycle or automotive application for it…

Talk about lazy!!!! :) A block of wood and strap is all I ever used on a 125. Now make that setup for a CR250, and now your talking!!!

Cool, and nice product as usual Hegar…

Sam honestly, I think they were going for the new look, and with regards to that, the site LOOKS GREAT….. The only issues I see are with the forums, and it doesn’t seem like they are too concerned or maybe just busy with other stuff and it’s not high on the priority list???

It would have been nice is they could have given the website a facelift and kept with the old forum…. Oh well….

Listen, I belong to probably 20 or so forums, NONE of them require all the procedures this forum does… I can’t think of one of them that has two different screens to select? There’s even a suggestion forum here, and when you make a suggestion they tell you, sorry we’re not doing that…. What’s the point?

I don’t know what the hit count is on the site, but there’s way less posts than there used to be on the old site….

    Just my $0.02….

The correct bolt for the OEM application is a 120mm long 6mm flnaged bolt PN 90053-KZ4-620. However, that goes through the OEM sprocket guard that has an aluminum bushing. If you want an 95mm long 6mm small flange similar to the rest of the case bolts, something like a 96001-06095-07 should do the trick…..

Sorry Guys, I dropped the ball. I was in the process of getting setup and life got in the way again….. It’s probably going to be a couple of weeks before I get anything ready…

Drop me a PM on what you’re looking for, I’ll get the ball rolling…

Looks real nice Dan, I like it!!!! I took a couple of Solidworks classes last year, we had access to the 3d printer…. The stuff we could make…..

I would be inclined to think that was a work related freebie? There’s plenty of isolation for the carb, you could certainly have that model CNC’s out of some billet alum, or maybe delrin….

Also, I would seal around the two bolts that hold the rubber adapter on, a potential air leak….

The first thing you want to ask is; “Can I buy one ready to race?” Then you could probably build one and it most likely will work. If not, you might spend A LOT of time and $$$$$ chasing your tail and not turning laps…

If you anybody that’s turned a wheel in a Superkart, the NUMBER ONE BIGGEST ISSUE is motor related. Find something reliable, tune the chassis and you will be waaaaaay more happy than experimenting with a non standard engine package…
