    Sweet!!!!!!!!!!
    Hey, Wayne
    I meant to ask you.
Did you end up selling that little cadet kart?
I need a roller for a project I’m working on, and the funny thing is: It is to introduce people to the sport at the local track.

But I need something economy, just like that little MS kart you have.
Please ignore this, if you’ve already sold it, but please keep your eyes open for an older cadet kart. Thanks

P.S. When are you guys going out to Willow Springs next? May be we’ll head over that way for a test.

    I agree with Ted
That’s a good one too, not to mention it does cost a lot less
That would be a great choice.

Fuel line off, pulse line off and blocked off/sealed
I don’t know about wide open throttle, but I gess I could try that for learning
We’ve tried several motors from our other karts, that are set up the same way, with fairly fresh motors, and surely there is a difference, no matter how we put it.

The point is that I don’t think you can race 2 stroke motors with low compression, especially when they only read 95 psi. That’s why I asked how many psi you guys are running on your motors? And this is for a spec pipe/can class at a local level. ( not open class )

    Oooopsy!

I think it has been reviced

    The book is called

    That would be awesome! Wayne.

Where is this temporary circuit at, Wayne?

Would this be like the streets of Lancaster, or Road Island, like a downtown Grand Prix?

    Awesome, Rod!

Good job, and thank you for doing your part.

And Yes, I am eyeballing a cadet roller here locally to convert into a slow speed clone package, and I also have a faster cadet kart with a KT100 package for when they get more confident and faster ( Graduation day? )

All I need is a cheap full size roller for a clone conversion also, and we’ll be all good to go!

    Thanks, all. Fast Freddy.

    That sounds interesting!

I currently run the YC Heavy at a 390 pipe, and 410 can

My Son runs with the Super Seniors at 360

We are getting fed up with the lack of professionalism

They owe me a 2nd place trophy and a 1st place name tag/plaque for my 1st place trophy, as they messed up the order a few months ago, I’ve asked them several times about it, and to this day NOTHING!

I’m really getting tired of all the lack of customer service, and low class operation.

We may just join you, 1.5 hours from Bakersfield is not bad at all

That may not be such a bad idea
Would they run at the big track once in a while?
How many guys do you have by now?

I never mentioned you were new to karting, or in any way suggested that you were.
I was just trying to help you find some stuff, as I am a big believer that even if vendors have stopped selling a certain product doesn’t mean they won’t have a few products left over that couldn’t sell.

I had the same issues with my old blueprinted TM moto, hard to find parts for it. Some guys even from this ( old forum ) were able to steer me to some one who actually had many parts in stock that were just collecting dust.

A good guy to contact was George Barks, in Orange county Ca.
I don’t know if he’s still around, but he did carry many stuff for TM and Pavesi, Motori 7.

I wish you the best of luck
P.S. Robert Lawson has a good valid point, about having your stuff custom built, if you can’t find any. I may be built to last longger than the factory stuff anyway.

    Ok
The reason why I asked is because I happen to have a brand new L&T 1 quart bottle.

    Thanks guys
    I should have specified earlier
This is for a legal motor, and national level, not a hot rod motor

What is the normal compression PSI I should be expecting from a reputable engine builder?

For the L&T Use the factory L&T oil, but you can also use another kind, I forgot the brand, but the bottle looks like Amsoil

And for the Horstman use factory Horstman clutch oil only

I wouldn’t use ATF, unless it was for a shifter kart gear box

I don’t know what part of California you’re at, but I can get my stuff delivered in 2 to 3 days from NorCal. I’d contact http://www.fastech-racing.com I think it only costs $26.00 a quart

    Where do you live?

What kind of clutch is this? L&T, Horstman, Etc?
    1,2,3 or 4 disc?

What motor package are you running? HPV, KPV, KT100, Etc?
    Pipe or can?

There are a few oils you can use, but it will really narrow it down once we know what you’re running.

    That’s what I’m talking about
    Thanks for your input, Lawrence!
The more generous people we have out there, the better our sport will benefit from it, and most likely will grow.

I know that there are many of you guys out there, trying to assist people also, and help out in all you can.
And trust me we can all benefit from it, as new karters will remember how they were treated and welcomed to the sport

After all we are a family oriented sport, and should be maintained in such a way, so that our numbers don’t get smaller ( the more, the marrier )
I don’t know about you guys, but with the economy in the last 10 years, we’ve seen less and less participants at our local track.

Thank you all for all that you’re doing to keep our sport alive, not only in the top notch national level, but at the local club level (home track )

Thank you all, and God bless you. Fast Freddy.

    It’s all good, I understand
We’ve tried 2 different ones, including a new one from MAC tools
And it’s about the same readings

I’m only getting 90’s on mine (just broken in, at a very slow pace and gentle )
And 120 psi on my Son’s, with only 2 races on it, and carefully broken in also.

Something’s telling me I’m dumping money where it doesn’t belong?
I would bet money that the guys running upfront have strong motors, producing at least 130 to 150 PSI?

Thank you! That’s what I’m talking about
We’ve been getting our fresh engines back with about 95 psi to 120 psi, at the most.

It’s no wonder we can’t finis on the podium in every race, we’re getting told it’s our chassis tuning, so we’ve tried every different set up we can gain any fraction and still lack of power.

Till we decided to check our compression.
Thank you for your help. Fast Freddy.

    Yeah, Rod
And all of you guys for the input
We brought the rear track back to 54, then narrowed the front track by one spacer
played with tire pressure and now drives like a dream

Thank you all, very much. Fast Freddy.

The only issue I have now is that my boy from time to time keeps forgetting, and drives it like his 2011 Top Kart ( old kart )
Doesn’t happen too much, just a couple of times now and then he shows that old behavior. Lol

Some chassis like higher tire pressures and some low

Some Top Karts handle real well in the corners, and some hop like there is no tomorrow

Honestly you really wanna find the best air pressure that works for you, for your weight, for your kart and your set up, and ultimately for your driving style.

Do you run front and rear torsion bars?

How wide are the front and rear tracks?

What kind of  axle do you run?

I’ve seen people running as high as 19 psi, and they glide trough the corners like magic.

Tony Karts (OTK} are extremely good, for their softness and flexibility

Top Karts are also very good, and will endure more torture and crashes

Birel are also very good and quick, but I hate their banana brake system, one piston mechanically activated.

Most Italian chasis are really good.

That Tonykart  may be a good choice for you, depending on how old it is, and make sure it’s never been in any wrecks and repaired. You can ask the seller about the history on the kart.

The other good thing about it is that you could sell the complete front spindles, brake system on ebay, or here, and make some of your money back. just a thought.

There is not such a dumb question, only the question that never gets asked is dumb. lol

The big question is: Are you gonna be racing this kart at a national level? Club level, or just the weekend warrior and an occasional small club race?

Most guys used to convert their shifter karts from 125cc to 125cc TAG karts, by removing front brakes, spindles, brake bias, shifter levers, etc. Yes it is doable, as the chassis were built stiffer to endure the max torques and bangs from the 125cc’s

But once again, the big question is: What are you planning to do with the kart?

Another thought would be if you don’t have a complete engine package, it could get pretty pricey by the time you’re done piecing it together, rather than just buying a complete TAG package for a decent price?

    BTW

    Congratulations!

This has been the most active thread  we’ve had in a long time

    That’s pretty cool

I kind of like it. Lol. Anybody seen Michael Goebble? I miss him a lot, he was really funny, and his videos too.
