FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantThank you, Ray!!!!!
This would be a good start.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantSounds like fun!
Any idea what the gearing is for a 125 stock moto please?
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantChristian is right
Learning how to drive a shifter kart correctly could be very difficult to start with, as you’re constantly multi tasking so quickly and it is very exhausting, once you get smooth and good at it, they are a blast to drive, there is no other thrill close to it, other than Indy cars and F1 cars.
That’s why I asked all those questions
There are other classes to start with, that have less HP, but yet tons of fun to drive, and very good racing/competition. And usually enables you how to concentrate on your driving skills, rather than tuning, and multi tasking.
LO206 is a great option for the money, here’s a video at the same track with LO206 karts, those guys look like they’re having lots of fun, and it’s really cheap to run and maintain.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantWelcome to the sport, I think you’ll love it
With your MX experience Shifter karts may be the way to go for you
The initial investment is not too bad, and the maintenance is pretty affordable, if you stay with Stock Honda, but TM ICC motors are not too bad either.
Unless you wanna go slower with a single speed kart, then that all depends how slow you wanna go.
Another thing to consider is to check what engine package your local track or surrounded areas run ( you don’t wanna be the only kart in that class )
Also are you planning to race? Or just the weekend warrior?
Shoot me a PM, we’d be glad to help, we have several karts available
Here’s a video of a track near you, enjoy. Let me know. Freddy.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantMost likely it won’t make a difference, those 2 karts were manufactured real close, GP was a CRG offspring during that time. Some guys called it the blue CRG. If you notice the calipers, rotors, axle and components are the same, unless ceramic duraclan rotor brake system.
This is kind of the newer version of DR karts, but DR chassis are cheaper to buy.
Or kind of like Fernando Alonso karts and all Tony Karts/ Kosmic/ OTK stuff.
Anyhow hope that helps, if not you can always find a factory CRG spindle, but unless it doesn’t affect your handling and steering I wouldn’t worry much about it.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantHey, Bryan!
My brand new chassis is all put together and ready for an LO206 engine package, looks pretty sad with out it.
Please hook me up with an engine buddy. Lol
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantYeah, it always does that, been doing it for many years.
Usually I go back and delete all the unneeded lettering that comes with the pasting, all that aerial crap! Lol.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantI once spoke to an old man, when I first got interested on this package, he pointed out to the driver leading the race at the local track and said: See that motor there!? This is the 5th season on that motor and we have done nothing to it!!!!!!! Other than just regular maintenance.
So I Know I can count on at least 3 years and a good chance I can get to 4 if well maintained.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantThat engine package is fairly new, and some clubs here in Cali are still testing it, and some have already raced them with very good results.
I hear nothing but good things about it, that the bottom end is a lot beefier with a 125 cc crank and bearings, that it is screaming fast and reliable, etc.
The only issue I’ve heard so far is that the onboard starter is having some issues, but they’re working on it, as they don’t want it to become an issue like we’ve had in the past with Rotax and Leopards.
Your question about piston life is a question you should ask a shop, seller, supporter or a team that supplies those engines, as far as I know they are still trying to make it grow, and I know of a guy that is willing to let racers borrow engines to test them and see how they like them.
And the answer to your other question about the future replacement of KT100 is correct, not only the KT100 but will also replace the KPV for sure.
Hope this helps your curiosity.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantJust sign up again, go back to your ad, hit edit, click on your text, hit your delete button on your keyboard till it’s all gone, don’t forget to do the same to your heading.
You have to say something on the spots, or else it won’t let you. Right after you delete it all just say ” Please Delete” or ” SOLD”
Do this to every ad or follow ups you have, and you’ll be fine. David Cole will delete it when he can.
P.S. What was the end result on your no spark condition anyway? Did you get it resolved? What was it?
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantYeah, K1 suits suck!!!!!!! very cheap stuff
Some of the guys I race with had expensive custom suits made by them, they went bad in the 1st race, sent them back for repairs, came back for the next race and broke from zipper, and seams, so they finished the race all patched up with gorilla tape.
They sent their suits back for a new replacement, and went into garbage again.
I would never buy such Mickey Mouse junk like that. I have an old Sparco suit that I’ve been using for the last 11 years and no problems, I wash it all the time, I only had to replace one zipper, but for 11 years I think it’s very acceptable, plus that poor guy has been to hail and back 2 times.
For cleaning: just go to the $1.00 store and buy some of that yellow Awesome cleaner and red carpet cleaner, soak it up for a bit and wash it. Comes out looking like magic!!!!!!!! Disclaimer. Do not leave it soaking up for too long, who knows how cheap that k1 material/fabric is? You don’t want it to look all cammo or spotty.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantSteve. I have a client interested on your roller.
Are you gonna be available some time today? He wants to look at it. Let me know Thanks.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantVery common chain issue, tight and loose, but has nothing to do with your clutch binding, most likely you have a slightly bent axle or a bad carrier.
It is very important you reply to Bryan Williams about the type of clutch you have though. He has a lot of knowledge, plus he has lots of engines, clutches and a bunch of stuff, if you ever need anything Briggs related, he is the man.
Is this your old engine, that you had no idea how many hours it had on it? Plus leaking oil at the cases? He has brand new ones in stock, and will be at Button willow this Sunday. Just sayin’
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantDelete
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantYup! Clark is right, and spot on!
Also see if clutch may need to be re clocked, that might be your issue too.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantYou have a combination of old breadbox side pods and newer unico front bumper and driver’s nose cone.
That kart looks to be an old Track Magic, they’ve been out of business for a long time. You might be able to find some NOS from a vendor sitting on a dusty shelf, if not look on ebay, or post an ad here at the WTB section.
Otherwise install a new body kit from new karts, adapt the mounting tubing, and you’re good to go! You can turn it into a CRG, Mad Croc, Praga, Tony Kart, Top Kart, or anything you want, and all the parts and graphic kits would be available anywhere. Good luck. FastFreddy.

FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantContact your Cousin Orville Wright from BKS in Bakersfield Ca.
He’s a good friend of mine, he does a lot of Yamaha KT100’s, and has a few twin engine karts, he may be able to help you.
(661) 805-7004 Tell him FastFreddy sent you. Good luck, buddy.
FREDDY SANDOVALParticipantThat is a very tiny tight track
I would say start with 62 or 63, and if you don’t like, or you spend too long on the rev litter change it to a different or taller sprocket.
I found this video, it may give you an idea for feedback.
