This is not the forum to be asking about driving a kart any where but a race track. The reason being your poor choices to disrupt the public reflect poorly on the rest of us.

Believe you want 42/58 front to back and 50/50 on the diagonal. You will never get all four corners the same.

From an outside perspective looking in and never racing regionally. IKF is so out dated and has piss poor leadership. Its 2015 and they dont even have a Facebook page. How is that even possible if you want to continue into the future?

I would vote x30 from what i know (never driven one). I base this off that the prd has insane vibration and the x30 is supposed to be much smoother. The x30 and TaG is strong in most regional series.

Go to napa and ask for cup seals, they have all the sizes you need.

Note, i heard it was common for emmick brakes to suck until some heat was but into them. Maybe it was just the one i bought though.

So i got to race a PRD yesterday and i wasnt real impressed. Biggest issue, vibration. Omg is it bad. Ive never thought twice about vibration in my shifter or previously clone until i ran this. If it wasnt for that the idea of tag is doable.

Club rules; this class currently runs the smaller carb bc its cheaper and more reliable but a little slower, Understandable. That is also the reason they dont want to make it a true tag class bc PRD runs a bigger, more expensive carb, when running in IKF tag rules.

Might just get a lo206 for cheap and run with the other 19 ppl that showed up.

Your logic is the reason I’m looking at an x30 but id be coming from shifter.

Stream it online for the rest of us. Cbs sports is not worth $10/mth for a half our of karting. College football is another story. :) hopefully itll be on then to watch.

Jim, TCKC TaG program hasnt changed, there isnt one. Until recently this area has been prodomently 4cycle but that is slowly changing. This is also the reason getting an x30 would be ill advised from a club standpoinT but it looks to be the better engine. out of curiosity, if we had a TAG class would you come back on occasion? Maybe i can sell it to the board.

Thought rotax but id prefer to do my own maintenance and tuning a rotax is not fun from what i know.

see if i can talk to jerry about his x30 and maybe look into the x125t.

As for price, seen both listed as used for about 2+/1 x30 / prd.

Get a chassis that is common at your track. assuming you are going to club race only, the most important thing in my book is the newer style brakes that are self adjusting. Ven04/05 style. If the brakes require shims to adjust then move onto the next one. They are not worth saving a couple hundred bucks.

Josh, ill look into a deltoro pump but i just remounted the pump and put the return line at a larger angle vs inlet. WoRked so far.

the more I thought about this, I might be back to the same issue I had last year where my return line is too big. thus causing a lean/starvation issue. what is the best/ideal way to reduce the size of the line and what size is expected? I have been running close to fuel line OD with thicker wall tubing. its a little smaller but not by much if at all?

and I do not have a pump around.

fuel is good, picked it up a week or two ago.

floats are new and not stuck as far as I can tell. is 16mm the correct float level? or is it 15?

Patrick dempsey: racing Le Mans was an awesome documentary. plus it has a short stint on karts, like 2 minutes short.

Im 6″1, 220 In a 2013 kosmic and i can shift just fine with out hitting my knees. Fits pretty well. i actually want to move my seat forward to try and get more weight up front and i think i can. I just need a new seat bc mine has a bunch of holes.

If you are running 4 orings and it still leaks, get new exhaust springs. do get the ones that are $8+ each. when you install the pipe use a little vasoline on both orings and pipe. Helps it slide on with out tearing the orings.

Its about total costs. Take drag racing, which my dad does. Cost $300ish for a sportsman entry to a 5 day, end of year, no points on the line race. (Halloween classic in boise idaho) Winner gets paid after the second round. This event pulls 600+ racers and a bunch of spectators, concession, each class has a sponsor, etc…

That all adds up to a large pot of money.

where as karting doesn’t come close to 600 entrants, fewer sponsors and not many spectators, from what ive seen. The cost is then passed onto the racer bc they will pay it, they (we) dont have a choice if we want to race.

Couple that with the fact there is no true national series or leader and its that much worse.

Tckc started a PRD spec class last year for club. Its around 8-10 this year. Im not planning on making a change until next year so ill see where it goes. Like you said, there isnt much for TAG up here but IKF has 12 or so in the masters class but that was at sumas opening weekend. Trying to see my options bc i physically cannot complete in shifter and the class has been shrinking. 15 last year to 7ish this year.

Serious injury awaits… flip one of those and you wont race again i bet. Driver has no where to go once upside down.
