Fast Five: Brittany Lobaugh – Texas Sprint Racing Series
Over the past years, the Texas Sprint Racing Series has grown steadily into the foundational regional program in the state. The series continues the long-standing development of some of the best drivers in the country, many of whom find their way to the national series to fight for race wins and championships. The TSRS continues to boast strong numbers as a SKUSA and IKF regional program, focusing on the IAME and Briggs classes. This year, they’ve also added a class for the Tillotson T4 program, which is expanding its program from its base in southwest Florida. The TSRS has three of its five races completed, having enjoyed great events at Speedsportz, NOLA, and Amarillo. Two events remain on the schedule, beginning with the Kart Moto facility in Cresson, TX this weekend.
We caught up with series owner Brittany Lobaugh to chat about the first half of the season and what’s in store for the remainder of 2026.

eKartingNews: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Brittany. You have three rounds down and two more left on the 2026 schedule for the Texas Sprint Racing Series. Before we focus forward on the KartMoto and Speedsportz races in August and September, can you look back and give us your thoughts on the first half of the TSRS season?
Brittany Lobaugh: We’ve been really happy with strong consistent numbers this year. I think many people are cutting back a bit nationally, but regionally, it’s been strong. It’s been nice to see the younger classes filling up again to keep newcomers in the sport.
EKN: You have two races remaining, beginning at Kart Moto this weekend. What are your expectations for that event and what are you looking forward to?
BL: We have the last two events close together so, after a bit longer of a summer break, we are excited to wrap things up at two great tracks. We have some fun exciting games and prizes to give away also the next couple races!

EKN: For those racers who have not yet made the trek to a TSRS race, what’s your biggest classes and which one is the most hotly-contested, if they’re different?
BL: Our biggest and most contested classes is KA Senior, with 206 Senior close behind. Both have been incredible to watch this year, and we’re excited to see who pulls off this year’s championship.
EKN: The IAME and Briggs classes form the core foundation of the series, but you also added the Tillotson T4 Senior program to the TSRS this year. How did this new relationship form and how’s the support been over the first half of the 2026 season? You’ve been able to develop an exciting program not only with the T4 Series, but also the RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate team in GR Cup. Can you tell us more about that?
BL: T4 Series USA has stepped up with an incredible test for the winner of Round Four along with entry to the T4 Nations Cup for 2026 and 2027. The hope is that the winners use them, as both are such an incredible opportunity.

EKN: You still have two events on the schedule for this season, but we’re sure you’re also working hard on next year’s program. We know the dates for 2027 are out, but where are you on venues?
BL: We’re looking at some new tracks for 2027 or maybe switching things up a bit but expect many fan favorites back. We’re still finalizing the tracks but hopeful to announce soon. We have some additional new things for 2027 we are trying to roll out, and we’re just waiting on final details. We feel we have the best and most exciting racing in Texas and can’t wait to continue the momentum into next year. We’re also waiting to see who wins the 2026 championships to get the SuperNationals tickets and guaranteed SuperSunday starting spots in our Superkarts! USA categories. The free entry and guaranteed starting spot for the classes that run LCQ at the SuperNationals is a huge bonus we offer.
