I guess on shifters with powervalve plugs, it wouldn’t benefit much…if it was on an actual bike where the rpm ranges were wider, then maybe.  Would be interesting to see an ICC pipe on a MX engine on a dyno…

I didn’t say I wouldn’t race there, but in today’s day and age, I’m shocked that such a place exists to race at… you’ll have to post back details on entry here.  If I travel outside NC to race, I’m most likely to go to Rock Island, IL…but if these events are convenient, who knows…

Some of y’all need to move to NC….:)  Or I need to buy a couple more $500 chassis and $600 engines and make a class!  LOL

Watched the cornhole board episode today…it was my first exposure.  Not as bad as I feared, but the racing is rather, er….”dramatized.”   I will say, it’s never good to take your teammate out! :)  Wonder how the rest of the series will go…

I’m looking forward to firing mine up this week and driving next weekend… though my rock hard used tires will leave something to be desired.  Time to apply some dirt kart magic to ’em….

I was more worried about dynamic imbalance than it falling out, but good to know… Thanks!  ~Ted

Good info, Benn…. think I will stick with my Tee system, and add restrictor if I’m seeing starvation issues.

Got ‘er ready to fire up.  May try a RCE T3 if I can find one…or any kart specific 80 pipe.  But for now, this stock one will work.

Thanks, Ric.  I was planning on giving Pudge (Pete Tyer) a call since he’s the one who rebuilt it for me…  If I can’t get it straight, I’ll txt you.  Appreciate the quick answer.

Somebody in NC buy this and come race with me! :)  If I didn’t have one already, I’d snap this up…any spare pipes?

Can’t make this weekend, but if my 80cc shifter’s allowed, perhaps the next one.

I wasn’t going to use starting fluid because of the lack of lube, but I was also going to dump some marvel mystery oil / gasoline through the plug hole before I fired it too, so it wasn’t a “dry” spinover to start.

I’m looking forward to my first road course shifter kart….I played with a 60cc on a 1/10 asphalt oval once… this will be better!

Thanks for the tip…. Now I just hope that the carb isn’t all gummed up and that she fires right up.  I wonder if a Honda 80 RCE pipe will fit this ‘Zuki….

I have a “straight tee”, so I’ll put that on there with the base of the T down to the carby and the pump send and tank return on the top arms…  Thanks for the tip.

(Sorry, had deleted my content, but a couple others answered a couple specific points of mine….mainly that I wouldn’t give up my helmet, but wouldn’t wear 2 of them, or maybe we should wear leathers as they’d be safer than nylon in case of ejection — if it’s all about safety….  I commented that we’re personally responsible for having fit equipment for the job, not WKA, or other sanctioning bodies, and that the line for acceptable risk is a subjective one — I’d rather see adequate runoff areas, no concrete walls, etc…..  I also commented that FSA or Formula K karts ran fine with single vented brakes, and I didn’t see why that system wouldn’t hold up to 110 mph speeds vs. 90 mph over 14 corners… Hope that clears up any confusion below.)

For CIK classes, I’m not in favor — KISS unless there’s a verifiable problem.

Unless a proper engineering analysis of the failure modes that led to any accidents in RR is done, knee-jerk responses via the rule book can lead to undue expense and complexity without necessarily fixing the core issue.

Single brakes were good enough for Fomula Super A and Formula K, so I’m inclined to believe they’re adequate for CIK RR.  Other classes YMMV.

Thanks for the correction on the terminology, glad it will work.  Thanks!  So, what is my type of system called? :)

I’d want a detailed listing of what my blueprinter did, regardless of price.

Or I’d learn to do it myself and save money in the long run.

There’s some similarities, but definitely different models, even if they happen to be of the same family.  And I’m glad that Horstman’s doesn’t have electric start…

Perhaps “just enough” mods to avoid patent / trademark issues?  Curious to hear about its’ performance…Pricepoint seems good, if it’s as consistent as the KPV….
