Chris,  There was an Intrepid Maky on Craigslist.  Check under Eau Claire Wisconsin.  I think they were asking $400 or $600 for a complete chassis.

Hopefully they re-pave sections of that track.  I think it is pretty rough.

I’ve only heard that Badger is adding an expansion this fall.

Yeah, usually the 90 degree nerf bars started in 05.  But that CRG-PTK with the Freeline bodywork was one of the first to use the 90 degree nerfs in 04.  My PTK was an 04, but the homlogation tag didn’t say CRG.  It also had a slightly different brake system with dual masters and dual calipers for the rear.

I put a clone motor on mine and then sold it right away.  That was before 206 got big and I was mainly running tag.

I thought that chassis was always loose in the rear, so I think it would have been a good 206 kart to get freed up with the low horsepower.

More than likely it is about a 2004 or earlier Paul Tracy Kart made by CRG.  That kart will be fine for you to learn with.  I had one that I thought was a pretty good kart.  Wish I would have kept it and put a 206 on it.

That Rotax will probably only need the airbox update and maybe the clutch.  Is the clutch gold with holes in the cover or the newer style with the black cover with no holes? Otherwise you’ll need an EVO kit to get it up to spec. What’s your location?

I liked the app that was called karting tools.  I thought the jetting was very close to I usually ran.  I think I mostly went 1 leaner every time.

I’d put it on the outlet side, but I’m not sure an inline coupler will fit.  You can drill it out like I did upside down or use a magnet to catch the shaving.  I drilled mine out and then flushed it out with water.

Is the allen head stripped in the screw or the threads on the head?  My allen head was stripped.  I ended up drilling the screw out because my allen head was stripped.  I drilled the screw out upside down to not get any pieces stuck in the head and break the seal.

Spray the clutch down with WD-40 and see if it takes off better.  Otherwise your ignition timing may be off.

Go to 4 cycle.com and find the chassis forum for your brand chassis.  That site is more dirt oval orientated.

I ran my Suzuka in Tag, but I always ran mine at 2-4 lines out.  With a short hub like your oranges ones. Those shockwave hubs are more than likely rear 4omm hubs.  That being said when I bought mine used the guy that had it before me ran shifter and had longer hubs on it and ran it wider.

A lot of Intrepid stuff is SKM brand based or Wildkart.

I’ve used a bottle jack from my car to spread the seat struts more than what I could do with a hammer.

Update, took all the connectors apart and sprayed them out with electrical cleaner and now it work.  Stupid electronics.

I was going to say a Methanol Animal is comparable to a Yamaha can.  The 206 is a little slower.

Most Euro karts use DOT 3 or 4.  The only karts I know that use Dot 5 are MCP systems on dirt and American karts.

Those look to be skm calipers.  I just rebuilt some that were the same kind.  Fastech-racing and Italian Motors have skm brake parts.

Did you get the setup sheet that says 4.11?  I have mine set up pretty close to the base setup on the sheet.  If not email Margay and ask for it.

What tires are you using? Your post doesn’t say.  If they are a hard tire like the YDS I’m right at the widths front and back as the setup sheet says.

But for a softer tire like the YHC I’m about an inch or more wider front and rear.

No front bar, spindles in the middle.  Caster is a little negative and just a touch of Camber using a Sniper Laser.  Short rear hubs and medium axle.  I’m using hub mount front rims.

I had a problem like this on an old style engine.  It ended up being the ground wire for the coil.  I have pro speed coil re locator.  I had to put the jumper ground wire on the opposite side of where I had it.

Is the episode available to stream or download anywhere?  I have friends at work who want to see this but don’t get the channel.

      Tony,

Yes that was me at Gateway. Stupid ground wire on opposite side of coil mount.

      Rob,

I replaced my batteries years ago and mine only blinks 3 times. Wish I would have went with a higher mah rating. I charge my transponder the night before I leave for the weekend and it will last all weekend. Mine will usually blink red for a day to go about 4 days total. If I get worried about it I will put it on the charger at the track for a few hours.

If yours still blinks 3 times on the original batteries don’t change them yet. It is a pain in the butt to change out if not needed.

I don’t remember why I have this but I think I have all of the possible registration codes.  Hope this helps, since they seem to be out of business.

I personally use the Anroid App Karting Tools for jetting.  No need for the weather station or a computer. It uses the closest weather station.  It has been pretty accurate.
