In my opinion, all 250 singles should be required to have a sprag or other axle device.  Of course that will not be, so I’ll advise everyone to look around in the pits prior to the racing/ practice and identify those without!  A twin has no issues because losing or sticking one cylinder doesn’t result in a locked up rear axle.  And guys, never, never, never come up on the 125 guys or a 250 single without full knowledge they may lock up at any moment.

I have that kart with extra sets of bodywork.  It’s a Anderson chassis run in the past by J.R. Osburne.

Always fun at Daytona Ian!  Especially if  all goes well engine wise.  The 251 PVP engines I purchased from you have served me well  as you know.

Johnny West’s DEA had ignition issues and retired during Mondays race. Randy Fulks in his super fast laydown and I had a back and forth race Tuesday which wore  this old guy a bunch.  Way to go Randy. Old Guys Rule !

Best wishes to you and Ms Dot for the New Year !

I’m bringing a second superkart to Daytona as a back/up, for rent, for sale.  It’s a Anderson/CR Honda.  Motor is a  “0” Time engine built by Sid Swift and kart set up is proper.  Pictures available and for more info feel free to call me.  The more the merrier at Daytona.

      For Rent. $500  a day.

For Sale $ 6750.  Or best cash offer  at Daytona.

Happy to see Racer Roy is gonna make the pilgrimage.

P.S.  Race starts at Daytona have always been LeMans style , the unlimited/ 250 Superkart run a 30 minute race with the unlimiteds gridded first followed by the L.O. 250 twins, then a second green flag for the 125’s.  The starting order for the first race has always been based upon your sign-up date  then the second race is determined by finish of race 1.

Jim, it is not always out winning.  Sometimes it is about who has the most fun.

Sounds like you will be in the running for a good finish.

      see you at the beach!

Great timing Robert, always fun to watch some good old Datona lapping!

Your efforts putting up this footage will get some , if not all of us , into the necessary Daytona mind-set.

Thanks and see ya’ll at the beach.

Dang it Ian, you have really outdone yourself!  The black power coated head will  tick off the gas gas worshippers.

If it performs as good as it appears (no doubt)  a game changer as arrived!

      Congradulations on the accomplishment!

Thanks  Sam and Johnny.  It means a lot to me to get a pat on the back from the “fast guys.”

Still not sure where the extra speed came from, but I do remember saying to myself catching the leaders is one thing, making it stick is gonna require some serious infiield hustling and do not look back.  Well, it worked.  Wish ya ll were there.

      Happy New Year

Ok Mr. Larson …please explain your concern about any  twins using larger displacements.

I and others would like to hear more about your  previous comment.

      Thanks Guys,

      The stars aligned.

Almost gave it up when running out of fuel with a lap to go.

Race Monitor site had some results.  Race 1 (Sunday) was rained out.

      Happy New Year

As far as I know, WKA does not have a 250 twin class which would include 2 stroke 250 or 4 stroke engines.  They do have a unlimited class mostly lay downs. They have in the past resorted to a local option class and utilized a USSK rules set from long ago.  In which, the 4 strokes were allowed 500cc displacement.  I remember this because I still have a Yamaha YFZ built to 500cc in a Nemesis Superkart chassis that ran at such events. I hope this helps your thought process because the 4 stroke engine is better suited for most tracks except the longer ones like Daytona. They are really torque monsters, not mentioning the electric start.

Jeff that’s very good West Coast footage!  Thanks for the view.

To check out East coast laps put Daytona Superkart in your browser for some up to speed renderings!

Now that is really funny!  A great membrance  of the fun times past.

Hook up the yellow wire and come on down to Daytona later on this year.  I’ll do the same, we can have another go at it.

Hope all is good and Mom and Dad are well.

The yellow wire was for the margarita machine.  Andy wouldn’t tell you that.

Brandon we all had a great time.  You shoulda made it to the beach.

The kart was sold at the race and now has a new home in Florida.

Down to  2 Superkarts now.  Will sell as rollers or with PVP 251 engines.  Otherwise, I’ll see you at the beach in December 2015.
