Matt DixonParticipant
Bill have you made chassis changes in those 50 autox’s?
Tried different axles, hubs, wheels???
As Jimmy was saying HP isn’t always they ticket to quicker times
Matt DixonParticipantHe may be on the brakes while he is driving or over trail braking. Get into the habit of grabbing the axle in the center, if its to hot to hold or even burns you that is the case. Keep working with the driver to break that habit. Keep grabbing the axle till you can start getting close to the disc without pain.
Matt DixonParticipantListen to your pants, I dont care what what track you are at with a PRD w/10-93 you are way out of gear. Start pulling teeth, a lot of them…
Matt DixonParticipantWelcome to the beginning of a great Father/son experience. After 10 years of doing what you are beginning I would have to say, love every min it goes by fast. I started Garrett at the same age, growing up at the track has molded my son into a great young man and taught him so many life lessons.
Advice, keep it fun. If your yelling at your kid, take a break. If your yelling at another Dad, take a breath remember things happen in racing. If your yelling at your wife, take her on vacation she can only go to the track so many weekends a year.
Don’t keep buying motors thinking your out powered, most likely that kid will be faster then yours in your kart. Buy track time, coaching and tuning help.
Keep it fun and he will love it forever, if you do it right racing is a great carrot to dangle to make parenting a little easier…
Matt DixonParticipantNice… correct me if Im wrong but is this Al’s first post on the new forum???
Matt DixonParticipantTake a hard look at adding a tooth after dark
Matt DixonParticipantTruckee CA
Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sugerbowland 10 other resorts 10mins away.
Reno kart track NNKC.com 1 hour, all the Sacramento tracks 2 hours away
Matt DixonParticipantJohn,
GPS is awesome but only if you know how to use the data.
Use the water temp forsure on you Stockmoto.
I loved the EGT with a tuneable carb but becareful with the egt in a stockmoto pipe they are prone to crack…
Matt DixonParticipantYes
Yes
A lot
Table is best with gauge… Or 4×4 under middle of chassis, 2 friends on rear wheels and you jumping on nose check with tape.
Check with dealer for correct measurement
Matt DixonParticipantIf its not the carb or fuel line it could be the coil wires. Tape the to the coil so cornering loads dont cause a short
Matt DixonParticipantA whole lot of Neg Camber (edit) and a push
Matt DixonParticipant^ Well said and pretty dang close if you are going to get your kid to move up any motorsports ladder.
Or you can find a small club and race to have fun for about $100 on an old kart, used tires learning on your own.
Racing is hard and is as much fun as you make it.
Enjoy it and have fun
Matt DixonParticipantCant go wrong there, just dont get discouraged.
LAKC has big feilds with top drivers.
So just set goals you cant meet and keep your expectations real.
Get some support to help you from one of the many teams/shops at first but most of all have fun…
Matt DixonParticipantWe race Redline oil in 1 series at 32:1 all the time, you need to focus on your jetting.
Muratic acid should clean that barrel up nicely…
Matt DixonParticipantAgreed. We run our Stockmoto at 32:1.
110 is best, no less then 98.

They will be hosting rds 5&6 of Challenge of the Americas this weekend
Matt DixonParticipantMove the axle gear… no problem
Grind the seat… no problem
Matt DixonParticipant^Agreed except 3rd bearing, tight.
Seat struts (2) each side
Matt DixonParticipantYes it is…

That’s a full kit, you can find just the diaphragms for $6 or so
Always have an extra
Matt DixonParticipantPumper kit, buy more then 1
Matt DixonParticipantNot a Pavesi but still very cool…
Matt DixonParticipantI would have to say the podium 2010 SN XIV would be the best Rack photo. I’m sure Todd has some in HiRez… ;-)
Matt DixonParticipantPractice, practice , practice.
One other thing, if the front bar is in loosen it.
Things twist by loosen and then retightening the bar it allows the chassis reset itself, so to speak.
Matt DixonParticipantBtw put on spindles not spacers, the flat part where the hubs slide on not the tapered part…
