It could be simple like a kingpin.

Loosen kingpin and spin with laser on, if dot moves up and down then its bent and can cause readings like you got.

    So can a bent spindle

So it’s not as bad as it seems, most can be fixed.

    Most likely yes.

Start by shooting the lasers thru a piece of paper (math graph paper is best) placed right at the steering shaft. Line the laser dots up so you only see 1 dot, then you know your steering is straight. If you are way off you need to do some chassis tweeking

    Tim

On a side note, I started racing my son 10 years ago as a 4 year old kid karter. It has been the greatest experience with the extremes of ups and downs. But as a freshmen now in high school the young man he has become, becuase of racing and his love for it, is amazing.

Good luck, have fun and the life lessons and skills he will take from this sport will make your kids better people.

I know I will never forget the days at the track with my boy and I am sure he won’t either.

When we had that issue in tag it turned out to be the wiring harness. See if you can borrow a known working one before replacing.

Will it start with an external starter?

Vic do you not think you would be doing a better service to you company by asking Patrick how your product worked out for him? Start getting the positive reviews flowing instead of continuing to address me and ask me to post more of my negative experience with your product?

Never said I paid $30, your pads were cheaper close to $30 cheaper. I don’t remember how much I paid for that stale loaf of bread last year either.

Thanks for the read, it will be interesting to see if it will make my oem pads even longer then they already do.

So once again, get the positive reviews flowing and I will continue to support my shop/dealer and everyone can move forward.

    Very sorry Vic

i only posted what my experience was.

Broke them in as always do, put them in at begining of event. Continued to fade until there was no brake left, very glazed when removed. All facts.

Replaced with oem and worked like normal for the life of the pad. Again fact.

Didn’t buy for $30, but they were less then oem

    just my opinion, sorry.

Save the tin 5 gal container of race gas, mark it mixed and store your fuel in it.

If you store your fuel in the plastic jug put it on a 2×4 piece of wood not the concrete floor of your garage.

Try to just mix as much as you are going to use.

Get a Ratio Right for mixing.

    Easy

They are already offering a buy back/ trade in deal right now, plus I understand that they stopped producing parts.

IMO the phase out has already begun

Make sure everyone gets to race. Help the new guys get the green, even if it means going around a few times before throwing the green.

Have a mentor program to help the new guys.

Have starters on the corner stations to restart the kids that stall.

At the time of the cut off to order rain tires the forecast was dry, so many brought our 1 set of rains. Many of us had to decide to practice or not.

When the forecast changed there was NO option.

In my business I have to buy assets that don’t get used right away, that’s business.

This was bad business. It’s all said and done now only time will tell if this will hurt the event.

    Throw rain into the mix…

After 3 days of seeing how the best drivers in the world in just about all classes and ages approach corners in the wet you would think it was magic.

There was different entry speeds, turn in points and lines through the corners but most of the time they end up at the track out point excactly the same.

    Awesome to watch.

Yes Tony nailed it on the head.

You first download the session to Race Studio 2 free Aim software, then use Race render to overlay.

This is filmed with an old GoPro.

you just need a Mychron with GPS and $20 software. To get the same effect and then you can use the GoPro for everything else you would want too…

It’s all about kart set up, lighter drivers tend to set the CG a little higher. Even more so in low grip situations. But that’s just this wet behind the ears, pre teen’s opinion… and Stewart’s.

To add to TJ and Peters

whats happening is you are get tire spin on the inside rear. Getting the rear to jack a little more will help that, which ties in with your camber.

    For the record

…and I am not going to edit this

I have never used a math formula to find a way to go through a corner, but math is cool.

Paul you should play with data sometime, it will keep you thinking.

in reply to: Driving: Slow in Slow out #13422

With Rays GPS he knows his speed and G’s through any corner and can figure the radius of said corner. When he goes over the data to see if he can change his speed at any point in said corner to lower his split time through said corner.  He can use that formula to see where he is to hot.

To keep the numbers simple We will use 1G and 100ft radius.

    15×1=15×100=1500sq root of that = 38.72mph

So remove magic insert number, if Ray is going faster then 38mph he is loosing time in that corner.
