Yes ran a couple for years. Is a good engine only drawback is the 5th and 6th gears are both overdrive so with the tall gearing when you hit 5th others that are not overdrive will go by you depending on track. gingermann 18/24 and blackhawk 18/23 depending on pipe. The original is better for the big track the other is more of a torque pipe and quits  at about 13800 but the other pulls forever. Any questions just post I will answer

you could j b weld the hole and retap with the 5 mm tap to reuse existing locks, don`t need to fill the holes just cover the threads to get the bite of the tap good luck

Bob I believe you hit the nail on the head, very well put article. Hope more will read it. All comes down to money. It`s a shame that we have to follow someone elses rules when we invented the sport. Thanks

The stock tm part measures 1.988. some aftermarket pins can be slightly different. They also have different holes in the center I like the solid pin as it stuffs the crankcase a little more. There is a custom pin from italy that has a hole in the middle to get more oil to bearing, haven`t got one of those yet.

Yes it is normally flush with the pin but what you are looking for is about .010 crank endplay installed in the crankcase  so if is in spec flush you are good to go.

As stated above squish is a little tight but in order for it to change check the lower rod bearing to see if it has up and down movement something had to change to allow piston contact. .043 is a good compromise on squish, usually when the piston contacts the head it will squish the ring in the groove. Check to see if it is pinched if it is you  have had contact.

The only problem I have ever had with a tm gearbox is the little springs in the front of the ratchet assy. If you go to one of the tm dealers you can see these springs in the pictures. You would need to take the clutch then the cover off looking at the engine the upper left is where the drum is located in the drum is the ratchet and the springs, it will get to the point that it will only go into 2 gears because it won`t come out of the previous one. Hope this helps.

Hi Steve  We have a bunch of brm karts that have that set up and yes you have to watch the fastners for wear. Have found that you can adapt a ven 4 fastner to work. you can also use the rotor and hub for a replacement will work you may have to slightly move caliper.  As stated  before the 5 pin hub is better and will last a while longer. Hope this will help.

I had a batch of fag 6205 shifter bearings that would fail the same way. They are good bearings but made in different countries forgot which country I had the problem ones. Maybe this might help. also have to watch endplay if slightly tight heats up and melts the plastic part. Hope this may help

Hi Gif I read your  posts regulary and was wondering if you found any performance differences in the location of the plug  if cutting the top of the head to lower plug into compression area. Yes it will lower compression but was wondering on effects of the burn in the cylinder. Just thinking out loud as there is a bad storm here and nothing to do. By the way I like your press made one close to it but have 5 spots for contact leaving one stud out for rod location. Thanks Glenn
