TJ is spot on with his advice. Im guessing the 40″ measurement reference you read was misunderstood. Check again and I’m sure you will find that number to be somewhere between 46-48 probably. Maybe they measure to the center of the tire vs others measuring to the outside…

Those wheels are not very thick and could definitely help cause hand cramping. Loosening your grip on each straight can also help tremendously

Zero error racing is making skip tooth sprockets. Tested last weekend at the uspks in yamaha.

BJ, just take two chains and make the length you need.

When you say you disassembled it did you remove the disks and floater? If you did and you flipped any one of them then you are not getting full contact anymore. Brand new they are perfectly flat but once you run them they become concave. This is likely the issue. Only other option would be contamination with oil. The overheating issue is from excessive slipping. The “stop accelerating” at 9000-9200 sounds like you are describing the stall speed. Assuming it is a can engine it should be closer to 5
8600. You should not do more than 2 clutch tests in a row without letting the clutch cool. Even if engagement is set correctly it will get very hot! The quick fix is to take a 1/4 turn counterclockwise from each spring to lower engagement. Assuming a plate is backward it will be hard to determine and correct now. Ifeal fix would be to get new disks and floater and have the clutch re machined flat with .030 air gap and start over.

What they are saying is some oils dont mix well with others and will lead to engine failure if not completely flushed prior to using new oil. I believe the briggs 4t is one that does not mix well with more traditional oils. Definitely want to double check. 16 oz is recommended.

Yep no problem. Always angle away and zip tie to the seat so it cant turn. Good luck

Check the fuel pickup tube. Make sure its long enough and not old/hard. Also make sure your leg doesnt grt near the holes in the airbox. Your suit can choke the engine slightly.

Its nice to have one from the manufacture to get a starting point especially. Also to understand how the axles are coded by color etc. Call grand products or top kart USA. One of them will have an answer for you or be able to answer any set up questions you have

Im sure you are speaking of a 15 v 18 with the same ratio ie 15/60 and 18/72. Oval racers will swear the 18 has better straight speed once you get wound up but the 15 accelerates better. Actual ratio is more important to me but I think the smaller combo does accelerate a little better

Your budget will be consumed far too quickly in tag. Either a briggs or Yamaha would be a much better value for experience and track time. Get in touch with a local track owner to see what is offered and ask what kart shop you can get in touch with.

Tj is spot on. You need a lot of seat time so you can drive the kart harder throughout the corner to help keep the onside rear up. From experience after a race is over my kart will sometimes hop on the cool down lap when im not driving it very hard.

Id be interested to see s pic of what you describe as inner vs outer holes. Sounds like as you change it the toe would have to change.

If steering is heavy you wpuld decreae caster.

The easiest way to make the steering easier is to move the tie rod connection point on the shaft closer to the tube of the shaft. You will have to turn the wheel slighly more to get the same input at the tire but it will be much easier to turn. If their is a spot on the spindle further out, it will reduce ackerman slightly and also make it slightly easier to steer. The most impactful change while also not altering handling would be the tie rod connection point on the shaft.

I’m probably being really mean but I’d love to see 75% of the tag drivers on their head. Dont want amyone hurt but wouldn’t mind if they got s little banged up and ruined the expensive paint job that daddy bought them as their consequence! Lol

The lack of respect for each other at many events is a great contributor for why their is a perceived lack of prestige at many events. Many drivers just think all the other drivers “suck”. I hear it from drivers all the time.

Ok. Haven’t worked on one personally but I did see one many years ago when they first came out. You can always have it placed on a chassis jig to confirm it is best like the scale numbers are telling you.

If the things I mentioned are equal that’s exactly what im saying the chassis is definitely bent. What kind of kart.

If camber is equal, front end washers and rear ride height are equal and all tire circumference are equal then the left front needs bend down probably a 1/4″. Also make sure air pressure was equal. To bend the kart you can use a short jackjack stand and place under right front. Have someone heavier than you stand on the right rear and step on the left front. Recheck scale. Jump harder until the front is even. Also make sure u had the wheel straight when you checked it. Not necessarily the wheel itself buy the pitman arm where the tie rods attach.

Otk seat sizing is awful. They stack 6 of the same size inside each other and they under up being vastly different. You cant just call and order one without measuring. To answer the question I have seen many otk karts run well with tillet seats. The otk seat is stiffer than the soft T11 though.

No need to change the kingpin. Just check it by loosening the kingpin nut and spin the bolt while you have your laser alignment tool on the front. The laser will move all around on the grid if it is bent.

Everything is available except the magnetic receivers. The mychron unit has a lot of interest and will probably sell soon.
