There are a few different CRG chassis tuning manuals. One of them does say 40″ front width it must be an error.

Anderson in Palmetto  http://www.andersenracepark.com/Home.aspx Has a great coach for young kids (Mike) for $50 an hour it’s a great investment. In a few hours he taught my kids more than I could have in 6 months.

I had an Aixro. I switched from 428 chain to 35 and there was a noticable increase in power. I don’t think the weight of the chain had much to do with it. I think smaller links means less strain going around the clutch sprocket because each link pivots less so less friction less heat less wasted power.

Orlando Kart Center in Orlando FL started a class using a stock Honda GX 390.  For your size this would be a very good option. More power than a Chonda or World Formula in a bone stock industrial engine. If your interested then contact them and see if the sell the conersion parts or complete engine.

I don’t know how they do it in NH I’ve never been there. In FL your best option would be a clone kart. Clone is a chinese copy of a Honda GX 200 it was developed to provide a low cost platform for racing. Check out Box Stock Project on the web. For under $3000 you can buy a good clone kart. For $125 you can buy a suite if you want one or you can buy a jacket for $60 and just wear jeans. You can get a decent helmet for under $200. For a $55 track fee you can practice at Anderson all day. You can race every month with Tri City Kart Club in St pete. They have a good senior class and you won’t be running against big money  just good local racing. You can keep a clone running for very little money. They’re faster than anderson’s rentals not as fast as TAG but they won’t beat up your body or drain your bank acount like TAG will.

“LOL successful contact, I think you’re part of the problem.”

He’s competing  with the current mind set and that’s what has to change. Today kids that get professional coaching are taught how to use contact to compete. If you enforce a no deliberate contact rule it will eventually change the mind set.

Having been in karting 40 years ago I’ve seen it with and without body work. Without it contact was rare and sometimes catastrophic. When I got back in with my kids I thought the body work was a great idea and I still do even though excessive contact is now the norm. The problem isn’t the bodywork it’s that the rules are not being enforced some tracks don’t even try.

We have several venues to race in our area. One is a local club that uses a car track. The track isn’t very good but the people running it and almost all of the members are really good people. It’s cheap and accessible I loved it because you weren’t come up against big money or factory teams it was good local racing. There were 2 idiots in the shifter class that were just plain reckless so reckless that the entire TAG class refused to run with them. The track for whatever reason wouldn’t do anything about it. I guess they were worried about kart count and I get that but in the long run they lost kart count by trying to appease everyone and ignoring the problem. There are other tracks in our area that do enforce the rules so now we go there.

Tracks have to start enforcing the rules. If they don’t then don’t show up.

That all sounds good but in a forum content is king and the lack of it is contagious.

I don’t know what was accomplished by switching to the new format. I hope something got better but it certainly wasn’t the forum. You had strong participation on the old format. The day you changed to the new format participation dropped drastically and it never really came back. You can blame it on social media or the stars and the moon or whatever but the net result and the cause are obvious.

We flow tested for consistancy and found that all the Dellorto jets are slightly different. Some are way off. If you suspect you have jets of the same # that aren’t the same your probably right.
