FAT Karting League Launches in California

Bringing elite youth racing to the West Coast

FAT Karting League (FKL), the youth karting program redefining grassroots motorsport, is proud to announce its launch in California this summer. After successful rollouts across the UK and the U.S. Midwest, this marks FKL’s third regional hub – bringing its proven karting model to the West Coast for the first time.

Targeted at drivers aged 5-17, the California hub will serve as the entry point for young talent to access high performance racing without the traditional barriers of cost and equipment ownership.

What Makes FKL Different:

FKL offers a unique arrive and drive model with fixed and transparent pricing, no need for families to own or maintain their own karts! Every driver competes in fully electric, high-performance karts engineered by F1 engineers, with top speeds reaching 70 mpg for the junior category.

In keeping with the successful format used in the UK and Midwest, FKL will run a shorter 4 round Regional and Pro Championship through November. The top performing drivers will qualify for the FAT World Finals, held right here in California in December

Racing on World Class Tracks

Events will take place at some of California’s most respected circuits, including Adams Motorsport Park and the newly revitalised Willow Springs Raceaway. These venues have been selected to offer young racers a professional and exciting environment to compete in.

For those aiming high, the rewards are significant. Top Junior drivers will have the opportunity to compete for a fully funded Formula 4 seat in 2026, while Bambinos and Cadets have the chance to win a full free season at FKL.

How it works

FKL’s system is designed for both new and experienced drivers. Every participant begins with a track assessment. Those with racing experience can skip training and go directly into practice and competitive sessions, while newcomers receive structured coaching through FKL’s driver training format.

▼ GET ASSESSED

Start with an assessment and once signed off, experienced drivers skip training.

▼ PRACTICE

Get straight to Practice.

Each practice day = 8 track sessions + focused coaching off track. You can also book half days which are 4 track sessions.

▼ RACE – Pro Championship

Top-tier racing in 4 action packed rounds in November

Score points, win big and compete for a place in the FAT World Finals, where U.S. and U.K. drivers vie for a fully-funded F4 drive.
