How many racers would like to see Rock Island have a spec tire for your class? Would more racers attend if they had a spec tire? Do you like the open tire rule?

What they haven’t shown is how Camden Speth and Joey Eppink ran up front the whole Robo Pong race. Joey is listed the #2 100 cc. driver in the country by Kart rank. And beat the #1 rated driver by over 10 seconds in the Robo Pong Race …With a very limited budget.. Karting does not have to be as expensive as they portray it. And all of the top kids aren’t spoiled brats… They didn’t expose the true Karter!

The cost of racing a go kart is getting plain STUPID at a National Level… A friend of mine laughs at me when I tell him how much it cost me to race! He has a modified and is paid Tow money just to show up! They are going to hurt the attendance by out pricing themselves. REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY GO KART RACING!

I sell cleaning chemicals… Each year at our banquet I give away a gallon of Wayne Chemical Industrial Green. It is Simple Green on Steroids. Here is the best way to do it. Put suit in 5 gallon bucket add 24-32 Wayne Industrial Green agitate in Luke warm water. Agitate. Put something on top of suit to keep it from floating. Let set overnight. WASH IN FRONT LOADER WASHER ONLY! A TOP LOADER WILL SHREAD THE SUIT! TRUST ME! After washed Re- wash this time with no cleaning chemical. I have shared this method with many from New Castle Racers and they are amazed how clean they come. The Wayne Industrial Green is only about $ 13.00 a gallon and Blows away all of those High dollar cleaners. I have never had anyone tell me that the Wayne Industrial Green pulled any color from their suits…

I was afraid of the 850 degree heat also.. Go to a real autobody paint store and buy some Aircraft stripper. Brush it on the frame let set (not in the sun) keep moving stripper around with brush. If you use a wire brush it will remove powder coat to bare steel and re- apply stripper and it will work from edges where wire brush went to bare metal and pop powder coat off easier. After you have it stripped the only hard part to get removed will be around the welds. Take it to car wash apply more stripper around welds let set for about 15-20 min and it will spray off completely. If you know of a slow car wash you could do it all there . The wire brush really helps. It will not rust. The powder coater will lightly blast it.. Make sure u tell them not to put in stripping oven! I did this to our frame. Striped it on Wednesday , dropped it off at powder coater on Thursday, picked picked it up on Friday, assembled it Friday night. Went racing with it Saturday and
Won first race with new paint and plastic.. Kart looked like New. I used a Dremel tool with a sanding drum to remove powder coat in the spindles so the adjusters would turn freely. -

We have missed it 2 years due to it conflicting with college move in. I only was able to make it with another driver in the seat. I am sure others are in the same position. It is nice to have a day to recover from traveling though. I arrived home at 4:09 am Monday slept all day! How about a jr. Yamaha class? maybe even jr. sportsman?

The Rock is my favorite race of the year! It is late in the year when race budgets are diminished. I am sure that is why some ppl. don’t come. However they are missing the Best race of the year. They need to save their budgets to be able to come to it. They are missing the Indy 500 of karting… Roger and his dedicated staff do an outstanding job! The race is run with precision… The whole town is behind it and make you feel welcome! Thank you to the staff of The Rock Island Grand Prix for all of your hard work and efforts… I realize how much it takes to put this on for “us” Everything has a on and off year… I think from talking to some other ppl. they were just not able to come this year due to lack of funds… If you look at the core of karting ” KT 100 and L206 the numbers were there… It was the expensive classes to run that were down in numbers. A Big Thank You again to Roger and the entire staff who makes the “Rock” possible… If some of the ppl that have never experienced it would come they would understand why it is on my all time favorite list! Very tough competition! Bring your “A” game or stay home!

That the races are not allowed to turn into a demolision derby like the National races are… If I was running a series if I saw some deliberate ruff driving they would go home with last place points.. If they say it was unintended I bet they get a lot cleaner after they go home with last place points…

I have a Honda 2000 is (inverted) it runs whole trailer 6-15″ double bulb florscent. Stereo with amp, 12 v tv. 12 v.pump on sink. If I needed I would buy another 2000is companion then parallel them if I had air conditioning or a large draw compressor… If I had room I would have bought a 3000 I I have nitrogen so I don’t use a compressor.. Go to generator websites they will tell you how to do the math and see how much wattage you will need.. Do a search on Daylister it finds objects on craigs list all over the country.. I paid $650.00 for my 2000 with 3 hours on it.

A Yamaha will not compete evenly against a KPV… I raced against them years ago when they called them HPV… The HPV has a lot more off the corner…This is just a band aid to try and fix the lack of participation in the now Yamaha pipe class… Great Idea!! Take two classes combine them and still not have as many entries as they had in Yamaha Senior can… Wake up and smell the 2 cycle!!!! GO back to the can!!!! Coke a Cola messed with their proven winning formula and it didn’t take long to go back… Admit your mistake WKA and go back and we will return!!!

Nothing like the smell of castor in the morning. At the end of the race season I bring home my left over race gas and put it in my snow blower to get me through the winter!
