The R5 tire is approximately 20 years old. The most direct replacement is the DFS compound.
Nothing made currently is going to match tires that old of design and then material degradation over time.

We have a 30mm one if that would work. No 1″ anymore.

If anyone is looking to repair the wiring harness themselves we offer all of the connectors.
I do run a full diagnostic on the complete electrical system for $10. Then repair/ replace as necessary.
All of the information above is very good. In 80% of the systems I test there is a broken wire somewhere. Find the break is the PITA but then can fix and system is good to go. This is on Power Pack and Digital-K systems.
I am always available via phone 888-KARTING to help your issues.

Check your seals. Leaking seals can cause loss of lubrication and hot spots. Then the bearing fails.
Otherwise it could be a bad batch of separator material.
We have had the best luck with the SKF bearings.

some kind of Briggs on a Clark yard kart tearing up the empty field next to the shop. Then when I turned 10 Briggs on dirt oval.
Been on just about anything you can think of since then.

Make sure you are actually getting the clamp over the filter cup. You can get it too far too the back then it slips off the back side of the cup and loses tension and off comes the box.

The standard EGT sensor will work. You will need the MyChron3/4 patch cable.
These are available from any AIM dealer.

It is not a drop on application.
The stud pattern through the cylinder is different.

It is a fantastic tool for helping to improve your driving and setup of the chassis. Works really well if you have team mates you can share data with to compare against.
Plan on 1 new 9V battery per race weekend. We have found the Werker batteries to hold up the best for power and vibration.

A team member got tossed on his noggin at Vegas in the ONE suit. A few scuffs but was fine. A few years ago another team member tossed on track in K1 suit. It was fine also. So both seem to hold up to minor track tumbles.

I have had several dead armatures over the years. If you spend the time you will find a broken copper winding wire somewhere in the mess. You can repair the wire and it will work fine till your repair breaks.

The trade in deal is Italian Motors only to move stagnant inventory. This is not an IAME sponsored program. If it was myself, the other X30 importers in the USA would be promoting it also.
Andy,
sounds like you have the perfect engine to trade in with this deal.

I have used both.
One is the better product.
The material holds up a lot better in the rib area. The colors are much more vibrant. Production time is less. Fit is better on my body.
K1 is a lot less expensive though.
For me the holes worn in the ribs in two races was a no brainer to pick the One suit.

X30 would be about 4-8 hours top end for a national level racer. 10-15 for a club racer to keep good performance. Double on bottom end for each.
Be sure an add in cost of more bearings, seals, oil and gears for the counter balancer over your current Leopard maintenance cost.
Yes it can last much longer but at a big performance drop and high wear on many parts.

Regarding the rumors I keep hearing about parts discontinuation of the Leopard.
85% of the X30 parts are shared with the Leopard. So the X30 would also discontinue if the Leopard parts stopped.
I have no clue who or why these rumors start but remember the IAME factory is in the business of making and selling parts and engines. They still produce the K55, a 30+ year old engine, and its parts because customers are purchasing them. Same will be true for any engine that production volume will be high enough to meet minimum quantity units.

I am sorry that I didn’t have more sets to sell. We had two sets of rains we used in practice for 1-2 sessions. Sold for $220 a set. If I had more I would have sold them at regular retail. We had enough to cover our guys and the two extra sets.
What I really didn’t understand was the big teams coming unprepared to such an important race. I can understand not having two sets for every driver under the tent but not having any at all was bad planning.

Go to a shop with the helmets in stock.
Try them on.
Most important with the helmet buckled. Try and pull it off his head from behind. You should be able to pick an 8 year old off the ground and the helmet stays on.

This is not our shipment.
We do ship lots of customers equipment back and forth. We always ship with full replacement value insurance on the items. If for some reason we didn’t we would replace the product to the customer at our expense. If we didn’t we would lose reputation.
I know I would rather hear company 123 made a mistake and didn’t insure my item. It got lost (or damaged) and they took care of it.
Hearing stories like these is just poor customer service.
Only time full insurance does not happen is per customers request. We make if very clear that if something happens to the package the customer is gambling with the items. Usually only on international shipments where they are worried about tax, theft, or bribery issues.

Support the karting shops that sell items like the cameras vs. big box stores. Lots of stores like ours sell the GoPro cameras. Or the other brands. Plus karting companies will usually get you a better price than a Best Buy that will be full retail.

I have seen issues similar to this where the bendix is full of chain lube. A dousing with WD-40 and brake cleaner to dissolve chain lube and a light oil to lubricate and things work great again.
Otherwise earlier suggestions have been spot on.
-

WD-40 to thin and loosen the heavy stuff. Maybe with a rag or nail brush. Then Dawn dish soap to remove the remainder.
You can always add hand lotion to the mix to thin out the heavy oils. Then wash with hand soap.

It was in a dangerous spot. He was stopped just feet from the natural racing line. I felt compelled to turn in early to miss the two karts stopped there.
I was racing to the line trying to get past another driver. If we had been side by side it could have ended ugly.

The difference between the A, AA, AB is where the machining of the carburetor was performed
A @ IAME before 2001
AB @ Tillotson
AA @ IAME somewhere around 2007 IIRC
