Agree, we just put together a couple new EVO Jr. complete engine packages and took the carbs apart to see what they came with. Needle is different, floats are now 4.0 gr and came jetted at 130 which we are guessing may actually be a tad rich.
All in all, really impressed with the changes and upgrades that Rotax has provided. The only thing that didn’t give us a ” warm and fuzzy” was the new pipe mount. We actually drilled another hole and added a spring to get it to sit and secure properly. If anyone has the answer to getting the pipe to sit properly with the springs included, please upload a picture to the forum, I am sure others will appreciate it. Based on what you are describing, you are looking into the top water fitting where the hose connects ? Looking down into this there is generally a thermostat in this housing.. If possible take a digital picture and either post it of forward it to us and we will do our best to steer you in the right direction.

As mentioned, kit’s are now available from Max Speed. We have just done a couple of new motor packages and there are some really sweet upgrades included in these packages. Give us a shout if you have any questions with the conversions.

Agree with Tony on this but would also take the carb off and apart for a good cleaning / inspection. There is not a lot to them. Guessing that you are using a good quality fuel filter and that the tank and likes were sanitary ? We use a ultrasonic cleaner on carbs after every outing to ensure that they are clean and remain clean. Not to mention the fact that pump fuel can often lead to problems.. If you continue to have problems, give us a shout..

Ditto, we have the engines in stock as well. They look SWEET !! Lots of improvements and upgrades. Not sure when the upgrade kits will be available but we are hoping in the next few weeks. Feel free to give us a call or email with any specific questions. George V.

Hi Ryan, we have the EVO engine kits in stock and are in the process of building a few new karts with them. These motor packages have a number of really cool improvements and updates. As Curtis mentioned, the “upgrade kits” are not available as far as I know but we expect to see them shortly. Feel free to swing by the shop and check out the new motor packages. GV

Try the green springs. I think you will find that the blue ones are going to be to light. We have both on hand if you need them. Also have a slick tool for replacing springs. Using our tool springs can be replaced in 5-10 minutes. Either shot me a PM or best by email at:

Are you using the correct outer washer and nut ? We have seen a number of failures from using the wrong outer washer and nut which may interfere with the chain and sprocket.. I would suggest putting it together and taking a hard look at it to ensure that it is running clean, free of interference… rotate it by hand and I think you will see the problem. We have run 11t drivers with great success.

We have done a number of WF engine packages on about every brand of sprint chassis out there. While some are easier than others, we have not found one that couldn’t be done. We have started manufacturing our own top engine plate that solves the side to side clearance issues. A word of caution regarding mounts… Some have only two slots holding the top plate to the bottom plate, while others have 3.. We have found that the mounts with only two slots seem to rack and cause chain mis-alignment. So if building one, be sure that you get the correct mount. As always, feel free to reach out too us and we will do our best to assist. In short, the WF and 206 motors are a great bang for the buck. They are dependable, require minimal maintenance, and low cost to operate and some of the most competitive racing we have seen.
