johnny brooksParticipant
1) Probably should have asked in the road racing thread.
2) Most people attending the event were already on the road by the time you posted; I know I was and it’s only a 5 hour trip for me.
3) For ‘spectating’ questions a quick phone call to the track would have been much simpler than waiting 19 hours!?
4) Your complaint don’t make much ‘since’ to me. :)johnny brooksParticipantCleared cache, etc and played with different settings to no avail.
For some reason it is working better today.
Thanks for checking.
johnny brooksParticipant“With the shifter kart you can only get 60link 428 chains but correct me if I’m wrong. ”
428 chains are available in longer lengths than 60. I buy 100 link Regina RH on Amazon…F125 laydown uses more than 60.
johnny brooksParticipantI use Firefox 30.0.
I just tried going on using IE8 and it seems to work better…as well as showing the ads over on the right side.
Firefox shows me the ‘Latest Forum Topics’ and the ‘Search’ and the ‘PR Wire/Headlines’ but does not show the ads. Last week when the speed was OK, there were also no ads.
This slowdown came on suddenly and did not coincide with my last Firefox update.
???
johnny brooksParticipantHave you seen a doctor? There are non age related forms of arthritis, etc.
You could build this:

Sunday Race 4johnny brooksParticipantStreeter also makes a nice one:
johnny brooksParticipanta quick search on “shipping” in the archives gave this:
Here is a link to Tag shipping solutions. Karting family runs the show. Im sure they could help you out.
http://www.tagshippingsolutions.com/i would just call and ask.
johnny brooksParticipantjohnny brooksParticipantI ran it back and forth in slow-mo on the DVR and Perez did move left just as Massa was going by. Also the speed differential seemed to show Perez braking early.
The stewards agree with that and gave Perez a 5 grid penalty for the next race.johnny brooksParticipant#1, Gomer was only a pump jockey…he was never portrayed as a mechanic. Yes he wore a uniform, but there was no self serve then, and they cleaned windshields and checked under the hood. He may have fixed Opie’s bike tire once or twice, though.
He did end up as a fine Marine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5KeGccP9Jk#2, that R-word is no longer PC…you have now given karters a black eye for using it.
johnny brooksParticipant
R60 or R60A?
This might seem like semantics but the R60 is much older than the R60A. Different sidewall construction and compound. I think the R60 was stopped two years ago.
Not so.
R60 and R60A are just two different compounds.

johnny brooksParticipantSeems I’m not alone in despising the new sound of F1.
Ron Walker, head of the Formula One Promoters’ Association, says his group will be meeting in Bahrain to discuss legal action for ‘breach of contract’.

And those noses!! It looks like Toro Rosso got their design from ‘Goon Island’!

Nothing else until 16 years later, found the Woodbridge Kart Club and started racing with a used Elite laydown powered by an LMR 100cc controlled.
johnny brooksParticipantHere are some ideas from the roadracing guys. Of course a bit more canvass to work with on a laydown. Check out the black leopard halfway down first page. Just one of several beautiful paint jobs on “Wild Bill’s” karts.

johnny brooksParticipantSorry, I don’t get it.
Sprint racing is usually on tracks from just under 1/2 mile to just over 1 mile.
Road racing is usually 1.5 mile to 4 miles (RA days). Karts have been running long courses for a very long time. The original VIR kart races were 3.27 miles until it closed in 1974. Upon its revival karts have run the 2.25 mile North course, the 3.27 mile original Full course, and Bernie even ran an event on the 4.2 mile Grand course. We used to run the 3.5 mile long course at Watkins Glen. That’s what Kart Road Racing is all about…being able to run the same big courses as the cars and bikes (at a fraction of the cost!).
To be able to run a modern, state of the art F1 track will be a dream come true.
Fingers still crossed.
johnny brooksParticipant+1 for Honda.
Ohm’s Law – volts X amps = watts
Is the track your only use? Does your house lose power during storms?
Honda 1000 is lightweight, quiet and will power your lights, computer & fan.
Honda 2000 is 47 lbs. and can handle a small window A/C unit as well.
I have the Honda 3000 (2800 watts) and it runs my rooftop RV style A/C (13,500 BTU) and lights, etc. Just have to cut the A/C off to run the air compressor. It weighs 125 lbs. and is on wheels.
For power outages it runs my fridge, Plasma TV, window A/C, and a few lamps.
The only problem I’ve ever had is bad gas…..today’s crap gas with ethanol goes bad way too quick. Get in the habit of running your gen every few weeks, and use Sta-bil.
If storage is necessary, run the thing outta gas & squirt a little oil in the cylinder.
Ethanol is for drinkin!
johnny brooksParticipantKeith wrote: “These really large tracks like RA are a whole different type of roadracing then the normal +- 1.5 mile tracks.”
Where are you road racing that only has tracks around 1.5 miles?
Here’s the list from WKA, CES, and KART covering the mid-Atlantic to the Midwest:
Daytona 3.5 mi.
Carolina Motorsports Park 2.3 mi.
Grattan Raceway 2 mi.
Mid-Ohio 2.25 mi.
VIR 2.25 mi. (North) (Full=3.27 mi.)
NCCAR, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. 2 mi.
Summit Point 2 mi.
Blackhawk Farms Raceway 1.9 mi.
Gingerman Raceway 2.2 mi.
Hallett 1.8 mi.
Lake Afton 1.9 mi.
Lake Garnett 2.7 mi.
Hastings 2.3 mi.
Heartland Park 1.8 – 2.5 mi.Even the shortest at 1.8 is closer to 2 than 1.5.
