Keith BridgemanParticipant
I don’t get it. Buy a Birel. Why not a Vettel Kart? Least he has won championships.
What is the count and chassis brands now. 200. 1 for every driver.

Keith BridgemanParticipantThe old forums use to have a lot of good battles that were fun to read but not anymore. Maybe its do to the fact that almost all series are spec series with very little debatable rules conversations. Also conversations are happening on Facebook now that take away from a topic that might have been put on here.
Keith BridgemanParticipantFirst time to Gingerman since 1999 when the old SKUSA Great lakes series would run there. Great weekend. Tracks a bit bumpy but the track layout and everything else was great. It was fun running the whole series this year. Will be back to do it again next year.
Yes, if you have a kart of any kind in the Midwest its a must run series. I would say its pretty much the main shifter kart series in the Midwest now to.
September 17, 2014 at 12:58 pm in reply to: 2003 Trackmagic Diablo 125cc Chassis – What Fuel Tank? #33954Keith BridgemanParticipantIt should use the KG 8.5 liter tank which is the most common
http://www.fastech-racing.com/kg-fuel-tank-8.5-liter.html.
Yeah you don’t want the one you have to slide into the frame rails.
Keith BridgemanParticipantTim that was a great observation. Your right. I’ve raced the RIGP 8 times and participation from the shops has dwindled to nothing. Its not on any shops calendar anymore. Other high profile street races have come up and there are more racing options then there are racers. But your right for the most part its a do it yourself kind of event now. Most of all the shifter or TAG guys running a series are part of a large shop or team.
I was asking myself why I haven’t went the last two years. One year a job change. The next is basically having three kids under 8 makes it hard. This year I decided to do the CES full series. Other then the team participation I think the fact that the track has not changed and has gotten much rougher is a reason some don’t come.
August 12, 2014 at 1:10 pm in reply to: EKN Trackside: 2014 SKUSA SummerNationals – Modesto Grand Prix #31891Keith BridgemanParticipantHey Stewart, you might want to look at a RIGP race newer then 2010. Haybales are no longer used. A street race that been around since 1995 would seem to have some value to most. SKUSA use to be apart of the RIGP with some very strong fields. Club race to Supernats comparo is ummm interesting for sure
August 7, 2014 at 10:32 am in reply to: EKN Trackside: 2014 SKUSA SummerNationals – Modesto Grand Prix #31636Keith BridgemanParticipantRegardless of how the even went. You have to give SKUSA credit for trying something so ambitious. Many things can and need to be changed and I’m sure they are all being looked at.
There is one for sure way to NOT get in front of new potential karters and that’s not doing anything at all.
Also I never saw SKUSA claiming this was aimed at trying to get new people into the sport. This was a high level race as part of their championship. There are no beginner kid kart classes here. The last Supercross or Motocross race I went to I didn’t see much in the way of how to get my son racing at the local track. It was meant for pure entertainment for the best. Can you seek out those answers. Yes but not every race is meant to do this.
August 5, 2014 at 11:23 am in reply to: EKN Trackside: 2014 SKUSA SummerNationals – Modesto Grand Prix #31499Keith BridgemanParticipantOk, I just have to. I’ve never seen so many crazy posts on a race as there have been on Facebook on this race. Not a peep on here?
Keith BridgemanParticipantThe Super Kart Illustrated mag limited run got my attention. That would be cool.
Keith BridgemanParticipantI just put a post up on the general page stating we need some new idea on this site. One of mine would be a section for all race series to input a weekend update or some type of recap. I agree, there needs to be more info the CES and many other series.
I also think the word Enduro is misleading. If someone reads Enduro they might think its all 3 hour races and only laydown karts on the longest road courses. That’s partially true but I would say Blackhawk, Grattan and many other tracks KART runs on are like big sprint tracks. Although participation is good I would think it could still be much better.
Keith BridgemanParticipantEspecially in Road Racing I’m kind of amazed at all the different engines that can compete. 2014 models all they way to 2000 ICC’s to built Hondas. You name it, if you can drive it can compete.
Keith BridgemanParticipantThe best comparision might be the 2011-12 S1 race at the supernats. Torsellini won S1 and the next year Simas Juodvirsis won. Showed up and won on the Honda. I would put Fore, Lamb and Abbassee at a higher level still.
It would be a good editorial from e-Karting to talk to these guys and get their opinion on running the Honda. I’m sure they will be very political but. I’m guess these guys wonder why we would run an old Honda over here. Ask them their thoughts.
April 25, 2014 at 8:11 am in reply to: OMG! 55Hp KZ motor with Fuel Injection and Fly by Wire! #26299Keith BridgemanParticipantThen you must have it, share it!
Keith BridgemanParticipantYour on the right track with both as Dennis said. I’ve also owned both. Parts can be had pretty easy for each and all models. For the TM you need to choose from the oldest, K9, K9b, K9C, Kz10, KZ10b. Maxter MXO and MXV. For Maxter one year they had a vertical read cage which wasn’t to popular. I suppose a Vortex would be on the list also.
Keith BridgemanParticipantYour 36mm carb I would guess is a Keihin PJ? You want the Keihin PWK or PWM, 38mm
Keith BridgemanParticipantWheels Hub mount, 5″ I don’t know the width but I can get it. They where the standard size for a shifter kart.
Keith BridgemanParticipantAnother thing, its your a fellow karter. Something you shipped didn’t go right so, discuss it and come up with some type of agreement on money back or something. To just say not my problem is such a craigslist thing.
Keith BridgemanParticipantI’ve shipped and received many packages and worked in the mail and shipping industry for many years. I’ve pretty much alway had good luck with the USPS. You can free tracking with Priority and standard package delivery. UPS and Fedex are so dam over priced.
The main problem I’ve seen is people don’t know how to pack things. Tossing it in a box and slapping a piece of tap on it while shipping a heavy box is asking for trouble. I’m amazed that some things I’ve got made it at all.
This sound to me like a scam by the seller or he just boxed it so badly it came apart, also on the seller. I doublt USPS is at fault here sorry.
February 20, 2014 at 11:52 am in reply to: OMG! 55Hp KZ motor with Fuel Injection and Fly by Wire! #22351Keith BridgemanParticipantAt the very tip of the best Mod motos of the day back in 00-02 I never really heard a true HP number but I bet it was around 45-48 max. Those motors where as open as you could get.
Keith BridgemanParticipantStart working on this event for 2015. Pick a date late in the year. Texas in July sounds nasty hot. Get a rep from all the main roadracing orgs and put together a plan. Make it a Supernats type event. Anything else sounds half assed.
Keith BridgemanParticipantI agree Greg, for some reason even if the American made TAG kart or Shifter kart was $1000 cheaper they still wouldn’t by it.
Trackmagic broke through that wall for a period.
One thing that might be holding people back is that other then Margay they all seem to not make it. iKart needs to stay in it and strong for a good long period and build that trust. Also if people sense its a small mom and pop shop that doesn’t intice people. The stability of Tony Kart, CRG, Birel means something. Thats what I can think of as a barrier.
Keith BridgemanParticipantHaving been a huge Trackmagic Supporter I hope this works for iKart. They really need to Market themselves well. Its amazes me how badley this is missed. You need to also put some damn good drivers in the seat that can win. That was Trackmagics success point, great drivers that stuck around more then a year. Drivers that helped build the success. I hope they get on the national circuit also. I’m kind of amazed that at a race like the Supernats there wasn’t even one Margay. Would be interesting if they built a shifter kart.
Keith BridgemanParticipantMake logical choices with the engines your club runs. Bringing in the engine of the month so your clubs shop can make some $ is a poor choice. Hmm I have a World Formula thats modified. I want to race outside of my club but I have no wear to run. Killer, done with the sport.
Keith BridgemanParticipantIt is true that there was less signage then normal. Use to be an F1 car or a kart and poster boards. There was nothing I saw in the gaming area. A few people asked me what was going on out there. If you where walking the strip you would have no idea.
Also if actual people came to watch that weren’t part of the event the two stands that where available aren’t enough. I know there where two inside the pit area but they need to have three outside.
Also from years and years of going to AMA Motorcross and Superbike races which pit access is awesome. If you really did want to look at karts and see what was going on. The way the pits are set up is not good at all. The rain made it worse but it is really hard to see much. Its a pretty closed off atmosphere in that respect.
See they do 500 things right to pull this off but you can still find things that can be done better. Every race series you can always find something.
