Had a leak in a plastic Margay, thought what the heck and bought a spray can of the leak sealer you see on TV. Found it local. Cleaned with brake clean, let it dry, sprayed it with clear leak sealer. 24 hours later, I filled it with gas, and been using it ever since.

Matt- that is my use to be friend, Kelly Read. He did teach me a lot, but I couldn’t make a living out of drinking, so I gave it up. :)

Here is what I’ve found. Low voltage from a “fully charged” battery, will burn the starter relay out on your push button box.  I always ck mine, and anything under 12, while seeming to be good, will zap my relay.

Sorry, didn’t answer your question. It does more than just letting me look up lap times. It’s the only way they score me at the races, so it is a necessity.

Well, that’s another whole can of worms. Leasing has been and always will be a prevalent part of the retail world. Year before last, I got sick, wasn’t sure how long I had left with karting. I can rent a transponder at our events, for like $7 a weekend, but always forget to turn it in, end up shipping it back, and now I’m like $20 into it. I decided to get my own,so I didn’t have to worry about remembering. My choices were, about $350 to buy one, $200-250 to buy used, Or about $100, to lease a new one, With Insurance. Not knowing if I had a year, 2, 3 left racing, leasing seemed to be the best option. I think you paying $170, for something a guy really didn’t own, was your problem. I still think that if you called Mylaps, explained you got screwed, my bet is they help you. It’s no more wrong than leasing a car, house, apt. You never own those either. As far as the $, for nothing more than a signal, I feel ya. Feel the same way every month when I pay my cell bill, all for just a signal, that I never own!

My opinion, and it’s worth every penny your going to send me:), is to call my laps and try to pay the $63. I just did last night. On the other side, for that transponder to have ever worked, it would of had to have been plugged in to a computer at some point to activate it. Go to the website, and open an account, to where it will eventually ask for the transponder number, and enter it, and see what it says. My guess is a chip, and a code that they input, of which you wouldn’t have. Bypass the memory chip, and your in business, but, then you live with cheating a company that did nothing to you. :( Me- I would call, explain, and talk them into letting you renew. Remember, that gives you insurance also. Good luck!!

It happens, best way I’ve found is to put the axle in, and lightly tighten all bolts, tap the axle in several different places side to side with a rubber mallet, lightly tap the axle again from one side to the other, and repeat till bolts are tight. Alternate with the bolts also. When I say lightly, enough so it knows it’s being hit. That gets everything lined up. Also tap the bearing cassettes

A “flex” transponder is a “leased” transponder from Aim. Yes, you have to pay the “lease” fee for it to work. You will have to call them to see if you can pay the “second year” fee, instead of first year, which is more. Yea, kinda got sold a bill of goods, in a way.

A tire balancer of some kind is a must! At least to have them on the money. Found everywhere from shops to eBay for $20-60 range. You can search for tire balancing beads. They work great, but hard to keep when remounting tires.

I think you just need a new starter relay. Easy enough, even with epoxy filled boxes.

Ok, now I’m confused, how did you crank it with the plug out, if nothing happens when you hit the starter button.

Mark, I think Samir is thinking of a shifter. You can’t push start a leopard, unless he had it set up with direct drive.

Yea I screwed up and got on other post. Make sure your ground is good, harness to coil, and coil to engine. I think your starter relay is bad, and it’s fixable. If Russell’s doesn’t do it, and I think they do, let me know. Your sure no one around there has a right hand starter? You can always text Me at 4174960428

Call Jim Russell Jr at Russell Karting. 1-888-karting. He’s a guru. If he doesn’t fix them, let me know.

I think your box needs a new starter relay. That’s why I need to know if it starts with an external

Hard to say, not being there, but, have you looked at your reeds? Sounds like broke reeds. Second guess is slipped timing. I’m not the brightest crayon in the box. But that is where I would start. Good luck, let us know.
