Chris:
While nice to buy something locally, shipping is not too cost prohibitive and may expand your choices.
If any one has a good package let Chris know as our season is quickly winding down and if at all possible he’d like to get a good package in time to get some track time this season.
Also don’t overlook local shops like OVRP and

MRP also may have something in your price range.

While the Leopard and Rotax are both good packages, if are running mostly OVRP, you probably want to focus on a older Rotax package as OVRP track shop is a Rotax Service Center and can give you strong support. You don’t find many Leopards up there and fewer KT100, and I was the only guy running a KPV/Komet.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantWhat Matt & Peter are saying makes sense. I will check that out next time I get to the track.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantJust back from the track and disappointed as the problem still persists. What was done:
1. Track Shop (Authorized Rotax Service Center) rebuilt power-valve and changed bellows.
2. At track I adjusted throttle cable to make sure it was not “Over Opening”. I aligned it so the curved part of throttle slide is flush with the top of the carb at full throttle. I was sure this was the issue.
3. I checked to make sure there was no contact with suit, shoes, leg, arm with throttle cable.
Almost feels like there is excess fuel in the carb and when I let off of the throttle it needs a couple seconds to burn it off.
The other thing I noticed is some clanking/binding from clutch (New style). Could t be possible the clutch is not dis-enguaging and the momentiumn is keep revs up? I’m having the shop inspect the clutch as I am switching bock to a 12T driver fro 11T I am currently running.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantRodney – I’ll check you suggestion on throttle cable routing, but pretty sure that is not the issue.
I had a friend send me the following (BELOW) suggestion, that sounds probable as it does feel like it accelerates rather then just sticks when I let go of the throttle. I will explore it next time I go to the track. It is a new engine install and problem has been there since day one thus I think it is something with my installation.
He says –
<span style=”-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;”>”Ha! Classic Rotax issue. They’ll sometimes run faster with the slide lower, so that’s why it accelerates when you back off of the throttle. Those motors are over carbureted. Make sure the bottom curved end of the slide does not open past the top of the Venturi. And you can probably run a richer main jet.” </span>
Ambrose BuldoParticipantThanks that is the answer I was hoping for…
Ambrose BuldoParticipantAppreciate the feedback. I have a new Lithium Battery, that I keep on the Kart well charged and a spare Conventionial Battery. With a total loss system in the Rotax, I understand the need to keep battery charged.
Hopefully starter won’t fail. Question is, if the starter were to ever fail, could I start by attaching the starting from the starter nut? If not’ I’ll dontate my Coleman external starter to someone who could use it.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantIs there an option to only view “New posts” since last login, or posts not read?

Ambrose BuldoParticipantTony
If Len comes and his Kart is avial maybe I do some laps in his Kart, otherwise if Len, Ric and Mike are willing, we can do a rental session or two on Friday. Doubt we will have time to get over to kart track on Sat as we got that other little 24 hr race to run. Come look us up at lunch time… # 768 Neon, #512 Camero, #256 Camero… Mason would enjoy all the Themed cars and costumes. You got my cell #, right? If for some reason I am free Sat, will definatl come over an try to bumb a ride.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantThis is what I got from NJMP
…Friday we will have competition practice (own karts) from 1pm – 7pm. Saturday we will have comp. practice from 9am – 1pm and right now we do not have comp. practice on Sunday. We cannot run comp. karts (personally owned) karts on the track with our rentals at the same time and we do not have tag karts for rent. Sorry! If you would like to set a reservation to guarantee your time, let me know!
Ambrose BuldoParticipantBig fan of the chin of helmet. It gives me the best driver like perspective and also lets me read the gauges on the video.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantOK – Since no reply, does anyone know what fuel mix is for these engines and where I and order parts? I need to at least order a battery and maybe some soft Carb parts as the engine has been sitting for awhile.
Ambrose BuldoParticipantHey Tony… I’ll see you Sat. Look us up at thunderbolt, Sat and Sunday. I will be riving the 768 Neon for MLC Racing. I have a room at the track for the weekend.
Len, Ric and MIke (U met him at LRP) will be down on Friday hoping to get some form of Karting in, since it is a down day.
I was at OVRP today, below up my second engine in 2 weeks. Looking to get a TAG?Leopard next.
