    Dry cleaners.

Mine is usually a smelly, dirty mess from hanging in the trailer all season. It comes back from my local dry cleaner looking like new. Easy button.

Short answer, no, it’s not worth it.

09 and newer got the new CNC barrel, clutch, metal balance gears, green coil, and air box. They have also updated the rad and pipe since then. If it doesn’t have those updates I wouldn’t even consider it.

By the time you rebuild it and do the updates you’re most of the way to a new engine or all the way to a gently used new spec.

I’ve had Bell, Arai, and now a HJC. I liked all of them but they do all fit different. If you can, try them on before buying. Most online places, like Safe Racer, let you order a few and send back the ones you don’t like or fit.

If you want an unbiased opinion on quality, call any of the helmet painters. They take apart helmets every day.

DB Motorsports/Brian McHattie did the graphics.

Did he just use the words “Dirt Kart Race” AND “Gold Standard” in the same paragraph?

I’ve been to quite a few dirt events, and the words “Gold Standard” never, ever crossed my mind. But, I have yet to attend a dirt kart race where the hired security staff weren’t required. LOL![/quote]

I did and you left out the most important part: “big” as in the money races. Not some redneck backyard track. And “Gold Standard” was referring to AD Leathers. LOL all you want but this side of karting could and should learn a thing or two from the dirt side.

The problem is to install these the spindle mounts have to be big enough and you need a jig to do it. I know Jim Perry at CKT Racing has and can install the Sniper kit. Give him a call at 630.513.5857 and see if it will work on the Birel. Or just call MRP and ask them…

Call Scott Evans (Kartland/Evans Carbs) at 515.244.6562. He’s right in Des Moines and can get you anything you need.

Whatever you do, don’t mount your seat with rubber, you’re the most important part of the handling equation! You don’t want the seat moving around. A fully padded seat or inserts is an option though.

Vibrations are just part of the game but I’d start with these 3 companies and follow their advice:

You also have CRG USA right in your backyard.

If the axle has never been removed or hasn’t been removed frequently it isn’t unusal everything is stuck. Yes, use a rubber mallet to hammer everything off/out. Go get some emery cloth, it’ll be around the sand paper at the hardware store. Spray the axle w/ WD40 and go to town with the emery cloth to knock down the burrs from the set screws, hubs, sprocket ect. You could also get a hone for your drill to use on sprockets and hubs.

Loosen the cassette bolts and either raise or lower everything. The only adjustment is all the way up or all the way down.

On the front, move the spacers above or below the spindle to change ride height.

What are you scrapping? Low rear ride height is the preferred setup on CRGs. If it’s the seat, move it up.

Search for Arrow’s setup guide, I think it does the best of explaining the how’s and why’s of ride height adjustment.

I’ll be at both Blackhawk’s in TaG Sr but I’m not going to Michigan.

I know MAM in SW Iowa was just sold but has anyone tried to schedule a race there in the past?

What about a joint race at Kansas Speedway? The Grand Am race actually produced great racing for a bullring road course.

Just about every Org follows RMC rules for Rotax tech, that’s nothing new.

If you haven’t been following along, the Rotax has had weight added to it by every national series this year because of a perceived performance advantage in TaG (which is unfair & not justified, IMHO).

This year I went road racing for the first time, with CES. Had a blast, I’m the guy you’re all looking for. BUT…They don’t require front brakes for TAGs. I’m not giving up sprint racing and I’m not putting front brakes on my TAG kart. Change that rule and I’d go road racing more. Pretty simple. Until then I’ll get my road racing fix with CES.

I’ll pile on too. First time road racing and I had a blast! Most fun I’ve had in a kart in a long time! If you’ve never road raced you owe it to yourself to try it atleast one time. From my perspective it was way more laid back than a sprint race…with racing just as good if not better. Thanks to CES and BFR, I’ll be back for sure.
