Curtis CookseyParticipant
RR make good axles, they are not more likely to bend than any other brand of axle. Axles bend because they are pretty thin wall steel and large diameter. Just like William said the handling of your kart is pretty important and the best way to keep your axle from bending is to not hit anything.
Curtis CookseyParticipantGreat video! It was a fun race, I hope SKUSA can do it again next year.
Curtis CookseyParticipantI have one on my kart that works great! We have also sold a few of them to happy customers. Hopefully Hegar’s can make some more soon!
Curtis CookseyParticipantTom,
Any Alpinestars suit should be fine. If you want to be sure just look for the CIK-FIA stamp on the back of the neck.

2.8. Safety equipment
For RMC overalls, helmets, kart shoes, gloves and other kind of driver protection must comply with the regulations of the national Federation or CIK-FIA.
For IRMCE and the RMCGF article 3 of CIK-FIA technical regulations apply.
Curtis CookseyParticipantBryan, here is a less expensive option: http://www.accelerationkarting.com/righettiracingcompleterearbrakesystem.aspx
I also have this exact system that is used. Since it has been used a few races we can sell it for about $150 less than a new system. If you are interested in the used system call Acceleration 1-888-466-5278 or email techsupport@accelerationkarting.com
Curtis CookseyParticipantBryan, brakes are very important to lap times. These brakes will lower your lap times. Total price with the hub and mounting bracket is $725.18. How much would you pay your motor builder to make your motor faster?
Curtis CookseyParticipantThe new Righetti Ridolphi set-up is the best brake you can buy for this price. The only brake that is better in my opinion is probably the OEM CRG stuff.

Curtis CookseyParticipantI think one of the main reasons that helmet manufacturers don’t publish weight is that it varies from helmet to helmet and size to size. At Acceleration Kart Racing we sell Bell, Arai, HJC, Zamp, and Sparco helmets. If there are some helmets that you are interested in we would be happy to weigh them for you, just call 888-466-5278 or email us at sales@shopakr.com
Curtis CookseyParticipantIf SKUSA just randomly picked a few drivers each race and made them swap motors it would be better than a one racer claiming another’s motor. Making a racer claim another’s motor creates too much animosity.
Curtis CookseyParticipantI like Dan’s idea, if the organization claimed a motor each race, it might work.
When a rumor starts circulating that someone is spending an outrageous amount of money on motors it is bad for the sport.
Curtis CookseyParticipantWe sell 3 different brands from $45 to $55. The biggest difference is appearance. http://www.accelerationkarting.com/kartaccessories.aspx
Curtis CookseyParticipantMaybe you could try calling Jim again. Something could have come up? I know he is very busy, I hope everything is OK I love that track too!
Curtis CookseyParticipantTom, the first thing you need to do is measure his head and if you can try a helmet on. We sell quite a few helmets at Acceleration Kart Racing and most 12yr olds fit into an adult helmet. Make sure the helmet you buy is Snell 2010 or 2015 approved and some organizations require an FIA CMR rating. There is also an ECE rating that I think applies to motorcycle helmets. A good kart shop can set you up with a helmet that suits your needs. Feel free to call Acceleration at 888-466-5278.
Curtis CookseyParticipantAcceleration Kart Racing will answer your phone call. 888 466 5278
Curtis CookseyParticipantI think this is what you are looking for:
Curtis CookseyParticipantPractice. I think you did pretty good, now all you need is more seat time.
Curtis CookseyParticipantYes, the shifter karts with ven 04 brakes were done that way. On master cylinder for both front brakes and one for the rear caliper.
Curtis CookseyParticipantIt is a pretty simple fix, but you do need to split the cases. Any Rotax Service Center should be able to do it and tell you how much it will cost before you ship your motor to them. Sounds like L.A.D. is close to you and that can save you money and time.
Curtis CookseyParticipantThe beads can get torn up mounting and dismounting tires. If I have one with a bead that is leaking I will debead the tire and rub a little rtv sealant around the bead. It has always worked for me.
Curtis CookseyParticipantMotul will work fine: http://www.accelerationkarting.com/motultransoil10w30.aspx
Or Maxima:http://www.accelerationkarting.com/maximamtlfluid.aspx
Curtis CookseyParticipantWe have what you are looking for here at Acceleration!

Curtis CookseyParticipantI question the weights on the racing helmet guide. I just weighed an Arai SK-6 at 3.40 lbs. and a Bell M4 at 3.30 lbs. Helmet weights vary from helmet to helmet. The Bell M4 is a good light SA rated helmet without a chin spoiler for under 400. The quality on Arai helmets is impressive.
Curtis CookseyParticipantTJ, you should consider an electric stand.
Curtis CookseyParticipantWe have them in stock!

Curtis CookseyParticipantAt Acceleration we sell both OEM and aftermarket brake pads. The aftermarket and the OEM seem to be similar quality, but sometimes there is a difference in the compound. Make sure that you use the correct brake pads for rotors that aren’t steel, or you will ruin your rotors and pads.
At Acceleration we stock brake pads for all kinds of chassis: http://www.accelerationkarting.com/brakepads.aspx
