so the shorter the flex length the more top end you will produce?

I have looked for some sort of spanner wrench like the make for a horstman dry clutch with no results. I have a wet clutch puller but it requires the starter nut to be removed to pill the clutch. Could I hurt anything if I tried a larger air impact vs my 18v dewalt impact?

    Thanks

ok. im semi new to this but have taken a few different clutches and starter nuts on and off. Is it normal to have Loctite on the starter nut? The lady I bought the setup from new almost nothing so Im sure calling and asking if there was Loctite applied would not help.

mine is 6 1/4 inch. it was cut by the local kart guy to make it legal for our local track. So not sure if that’s a standard or just our tracks thing. Also I thing the longer it is the more power you get. I am semi new also so I wouldn’t take my word for gospel, its just what I have.

also fyi I am running a kt100. not sure if that pipe goes on other motors also.

I talked to one of the guys at horstman and he said it sounds like I’m doing everything right and have good endplay which he said really the most important part. He said put it all the way together fill it with oil and start it up. Then see how it feels with the motor off.

The friction is before I even put the out side cover on and fill with oil. I did notice if I just barely finger tight the starter nut it spins good. But no where near the 350 inch pounds. Not sure on the other measurements, I need to go buy a caliper today after work.

Yeah I talked to the guy that runs the local kart shop here and he said from what he has seen margays seem to run faster on a 40mm axle anyways. So that’s what I’m sticking with. Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the info. I have been thinking about going to a 50mm. I’m pretty new to the sport still, what are the benefits of going to a 50mm?

Thanks for the advice. I’m 5’10 200. I run in a 360 class so I have no added weight. My sear is about 2 inch in front of my rear axle and the top is about 8 above. I will try narrowing the front also.

Thanks guys for the help. Like I said I’m still new and learning this sport but love going fast and am very competitive.

I’ve noticed both strategies from the races I’ve watched. The first corner seems to be a magnet for spin outs and the guys that hang back bypass all that.

What size are the rain tires. Do you have any wheels?
