To wide for a laydown kart! Situp sprint may work, but 5.5 on front would kill your speed and wear the arms out unless your on a twin.

Most of the Laydown guys I know are using the Hoosier 10.5×4.50-6 Enduro Tire on front and rear. The tire seems wider than most 5.0 wide tires and being a sportsman it is plenty of tire to hold the kart. I would mount them on 6″ wide wheels. I have used these at Daytona as well as Hallett, those are two completely different tracks and this setup of tires works great. The controls and opens are using wider tires on the rear.

That is a Margay Fuel tank. You can buy them direct from Margay or TS racing or Comet. It is a vintage tank that has been around for many years. Keep the fuel petcock and cap from old tanks.

Works for me !! Hallett is my favorite race to make each year! The kids play, parents BS, The track is fun, the staff at the track is great and KART puts on a fantastic show!!!

I’m not sure the plan for a large class but I can tell you that as of now the West Texas Outlaws Group will be putting 7 or 8 Laydown Yamaha karts on the grid in the medium and heavy classes. last year we ran the pipe class the can when the classes didn’t interfere with the other classes ran. I know almost all of us ran Yamaha hvy and Can med, I skipped out to do the dirt race but this year it will be road race time only. I know a few are running Tag situp karts and B stock so hopefully they will fall outside of the Yamaha classes and the rest of the country can match Texas entries on the grid!!!

That being said the only thing that might throw a wheel on the deal is if a guy only wants to run one class and has to pay $600. Most in my group will run as many classes as they can be it TAG, Yamaha/piston port/open- situp/ laydown. As long as time to recover for all of us old farts were in.  </span></p>

The only thing I see is we have people that would love to run in our area that can only run one day or class. </span></p>

I will bet that if there is a  1-Yamaha HVY pipe class, 2- a Yamaha can classes, a piston port, and a open class for laydown kart that there will be no less than 20 karts in each class. Our group brings 9 -Yamaha Hvy  entries to most all of the races we attend. Now sometimes work or life makes some of us have to pass on a race but the numbers of Laydown Road Race karts in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas will make up the 20 karts. If any of the people outside of these states show up the numbers should be great.

Debbie, I as well have put this down as a carved in stone race. I hope a ton of laydown karts show up and as a group start to work together to bring back big classes for laydown racing!

As a group we don’t points race so our group picks races or track that we want to race at then plan them out as a group and bring the most we can to a race.
