I wouldn’t pay 4300 for it, even with the extra motor. Without looking at it in person, my top dollar would probably be 3000. I would try to get all spares at that price also. Make sure to ask detailed questions on maintenance to get a feel for possible issues you might run into.

This is just my opinion, and maybe I got it all wrong…….

The number of karts totaled at Modesto is a direct correlation to the level of aggression displayed. It seems at all SKUSA events the aggression level is, in general, much higher than at a club level race, and not  in a good way. On a street course there is inherently more danger, no matter WHAT is done. Seems like a lot of drivers thought they were going to be able to set a wheel off in the grass…

For direct comparison, look at the LSGP in Lockhart. Were karts crashed? Sure, plenty (I did it). But I would say the level of carnage, judging by pictures and social media posts, was on a whole other level at Modesto. Why is that? It’s not like the LSGP track was slow (not sure what speeds were being hit at Modesto but at Lockhart it was about 90) and less dangerous per say. The overall surface and track seemed pretty good at Modesto, save the chicane and maybe a few other parts. Once again, direct comparison, Lockhart suffered from issues as well. There were plenty of sketchy zones and not every possible danger can be covered. People weren’t out in force complaining about that event.

So tell me, whats the difference?

No. I have had pretty high water temps with the go pro mounted to the radiator and never had a prob. I think it would have to be above 200* to make it unstable.

Yeah, make sure the mount is going to stick really well to the chin before putting it there! My helmet fits the adhesive mount perfectly.

I always have thought the chin is best for getting the closest to real driver perspective. Top of helmet is too high up and looks funny to me. Side is pretty good. Next best place imho is on the radiator.

My least favorite place is the front fairing. You don’t get a perspective on anything that is going on. Can’t see pedals, steering, anything…..

Looking forward to the replies in this thread. I feel I am somewhat in the same boat. I have done quite a bit more “tuning” than you, but I don’t always know if I am tuning in/out the right thing. Meaning, is the kart loosing the rear on exit because I have entry understeer and am therefore turning in to hard, then it catches and causes oversteer. Or, is there simply not enough grip on exit?

I feel like I have a decent grip on things, but not quite “there yet.”

I have tried many times to set toe by carefully measuring. I was even using toe plates. It just isn’t as reliable as Snipers. Invest in a set and save yourself a lot of time and hassle and know it is getting done accurately.

Also, you need to make sure the steering wheel is centered somehow, and you need to make sure you actually have the same amount of toe on each side. Pretty difficult to do with tape measure.

I have a lot of hours on my current chain…..probably in the neighborhood of 25-30 and it still looks pretty good. Going to change it before the next time out, but a chain, if taken care of properly, shouldn’t be breaking all the time.

If you are trying to race in stock Honda, you should use a stock Honda 99′ reed cage. The reeds are open, just not multi-stage I believe?

You might want to research stock Honda rules a bit more than you have.
