      The same thing happened at LAKC’s first race at CalSpeed. It poured and the tracks was flooded. Thanks to Tom Pacheco and Mexican Dave, the water was pumped away and the track was slightly reconfigured. After that it only got better.

      David, I thought Danica was reading off a teleprompter and Hamlin flubbed his lines more than once. As far as the show goes, I think more interest would be generated if the drivers and fathers were a little more likable but a wise old filmmaker once said, “Without drama you have no story.”

      Having negotiated a few contracts I can tell you that when one party wants what the other party has, you don’t call the other party a bold face liar. I can’t remember that ever working. You can fix the club but you can’t fix stupid. Just get rid of stupid. Problem solved. If you can’t renegotiate a lease after ten years of renting, you screwed up. I have a feeling that if this were the only issue, it could have been resolved amicably. There were probably several issues over the years and this was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. LAKC has always played a significant role in Southern California karting but it really is the kart drivers that made this club great in spite of its leadership or lack thereof. I know Rob Niles and have actually negotiated a lease with him. He was always straight forward, to the point and fair. If he wanted to take over the club, he could have done that a long, long time ago. From day one, he could have started his own club and left LAKC go right down the drain which was exactly where it was headed. Without the move to CalSpeed, there would be no LAKC.

      Great races yesterday. Great track and turnout. As always SKUSA and EKN have done a great job putting on a race. TaG Sr had more crunched noses than I have ever seen at a race in my life. TaG Sr. , S-4 and S-1 are going to be the races to watch.

      Karts are designed to flex when they turn.  Full bumpers all the way around inhibited that flex making lap times slower.

      Has anyone ever done a study as to the economic impact that the SuperNats has on Las Vegas? That’s a lot of hotels, rent, gas, food, taxes, entertainment, shopping etc. This event must generate a significant amount of revenue for the city and state.

      Jones getting taken out by Adams sucked and I didn’t see who wrecked Rudolph. He got punted. That’s just dirty racing. If you can’t beat the fastest guy in your kart, wrecking someone isn’t the way to do it.
