Tony, Thanks. Any idea why they would have had it reversed?  our inexperience we have only dealt with a tank that had one cap with two hoses coming out. One to the overflow and the other was the fuel line( and just one fuel line inside the tank) .  Surprised it was backwards knowing the previous owner of the kart.

Thanks. We currently race Yamaha kt100. I’ll check out kart360 sometimes. It seems pretty good.

Is there any other place that you get your karting information besides EKartingNews?

Interesting.  David, any idea why most people I’ve seen run a 2-disk in our class? The guy I talked to said the 3disk was better at both performance and longevity. As you stated.

What about how to get kt100 ready for storage? What do I need to do? Bring it in th house but what else? And when should I get the engine rebuilt. It has about 7 races on it. Should I do it now or wait closer to spring?

      thanks

Tony, Thanks. It’s a KT100 engine.  I would pretty much take engine, tires, hubs, mycron off and store them in the basement and just the frame would be in the garage.  Just worried if it would do anything to the frame exposed to the weather.

I found a Duralast CTX7A-BS at my local Auto Zone(59.99).  Do you think that do the job?  Just making sure I buy the right one.  Nothing worse than getting to the grid and the kart not starting.  :)

Thanks. Is there a certain brand or part number I need to look for or certain amount of CCA’s(Cold Cranking Amps)?

Thanks. So valve lapping compound will work?

ok we got it figured out.  The rpm wire end was laying on the engine head causing the spark plug, even though it was showing current going through it, to work but not produce enough electric to ignite the fuel. Once we rewrapped it around  the ignition coil correctly, she fired right up. Craziest thing I ever seen.

Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.

Thanks. OK so now I understand what a pulse line is :)  it is intact, no leaks and it is wire tied at. Otherwise ends. When I try to start the engine I can see that fuel is moving through it. Or at least it appears that way. I’ve pulled the needles and the look fine. The carb was pulled and about a month or so ago was repaired by my engine builder.  We’ve ran three races fine. I check the passage ways in the carb and they appear fine and I didn’t find any junk or anything.

Thanks for the help. I’m baffled.

Thanks. Nothing has changed since the last race ran good and has been in the garage since.  Fuel was drained after the race.  My low and high are adjusted as you say.  The carb has not been take end off and my starter has a full charge to it should be cranking at its maximum.

Not sure what the pulse line is. I’ll have to look into that.

      Thanks!

Hey guys, I wanted to revisit this subject as I can’t find any Xeramic in the US. To expensive to ship from outside the US. Going through CometkartSales it looks like their top two are either:  Motul Chain Lube Spray or Blendzall 500 chain lube spray.  The Tri-Flo says its not recommended for chains.  https://cometkartsales.com/Chain-Lube/

Is one of these better than the other??  Or if someone can point me to the Xeramic in the US that would be great.

      Thanks guys!

Thanks guys.  Tim, I would have no idea who is an Arrow dealer. I bought the kart from an individual.  How would I go about finding an Arrow dealer?

      Thanks for all your help

Thanks guys. It looks like http://www.godecalzone.com is about $32 for 4. That seems expensive. But I could be wrong.  I have emailed http://www.dbmotorsportsonline.com/ but haven’t heard back from them.

      is pricing correct for godecalzone?

And is there anyone else I can try.  Basic decal. Black back ground and name in white.

      Thanks!!

Thanks. I’ll spray them down lightly with wd40, wrap them in syran wrap and store them in my basement.  Does that sound like the best thing to do? I don’t really have enough buckets for storing them.

Andre, Not too old. Bought it in December.  It stays on a trickle charge. I’ve checked the battery water level and it is fine.  Is there a different battery I should look at instead of this one?  One with higher CCA or just a better one?

      Thanks

Thanks.  It is for our Yamaha kt100. By parallel do you mean two batteries?  This thing is heavy enough,  I can’t imagine having two batteries.  :)

Thanks. My son is about 5’8″ inches tall and about 160lbs. Do you still think that he should have between 41-43% front weight?? Thank you and do you know if there is any documentation online that will show me this?  Just trying to understand as much as I can.

      Thanks

Thanks guys!  I think we will wait. The last thing I want to do is cause myself problems down the road.  Though waiting won’t be easy!! :)  And thanks for putting up with all my novice questions on this forum. We are completely new to karting . Very excited but we are clueless on many things!!

New to karting but We are in the same boat. The kart we bought have 6.0  and I am wanting to change to 7.10.   I  was wondering what size rims I need to use the 7.10 tires.  And is there a certain type? aluminum? Or magnesium?

      Thanks,

Thanks guys.  I was thinking something more like this battery.

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/GO-KART-STARTER-GEAR-REDUCTION-w-BATTERY-COLEMAN-SUPER-MINI-RACING-KT100-TAG-/161196626996?hash=item2588115434&vxp=mtr

It would be a lot lighter and my kids could use it to start the kart without being to heavy.

      Would this be ok ???

Ok, so I went to Autozone and they were trying to sell me a $80 battery.  How much should I be paying for a battery?? Is $50 about right or should I be able to find one cheaper?

I just don’t want to buy the wrong battery.  If someone could post a part number for one or a link or two I would greatly appriciate it.

My starter is kinda old. It looks a little like this style. It’s not this one but looks kinda like it. https://new.ekartingnews.com/forums/topic/kart-starter-old-style-coleman-starter/

      Thanks guys
