We had 22 LO206 racers at the last Florida Pro Kart race in Jacksonville and I would expect most would go to Daytona also. Might get a couple of TAGs but no Yamahas from Florida.

If you want to see new racers, don’t try to limit your racers to CIK rules. Briggs 4 cycle racers have always run laydown seats and Gold cup bodywork. Limit your rules to CIK and you will not get many of the good Gold Cup 4 cycle racers to show up.

We installed ours with the set screws facing outward. Glad we did because they did not release easily. Found a good way to release them if they are installed like ours. Found an old 40mm hub and removed the studs. Slide it on backwards and it pushes uniformly on the collet when you tap the hub with a hammer. This releases the bearing without marring the collet.

That’ why I went with the 3000 with boost. Never have a problem with starting my trailer air compressors since they are fairly small anyway compared to my shop air compressor.

 

I also have a Honda 1000 that I use for just trailer lights, grinder, and phone/computer charging. You can’t even hear it running.

I recommend a Yamaha EF3000iseb. I runs at 3000 watts with a boost to 3800 watts when needed. Be sure to look for the model with the boost. I’ve had mine since about 2003 and is used almost every weekend at the track. Changed the plug once, a couple of oil changes and a new air filter in 12 plus years. Also had to buy two batteries (electric start) over the years. Just bought my second battery today. And is quiet to boot. Only other generator I would own is a Honda 3000.

Steve, could you describe the direction you had to install the bearings and why you had to install them that way? Gary, what direction do you install yours on your Arrow chassis. We have an Eagle on order and ordered a set of SKF bearings to install vice the stock bearings. Which direction do the collet lock screws point on each side?

If the chassis is not bent, I would suspect a caster misalignment from one side to the other. Caster split will cause a kart to turn towards the side that has less caster.

Also depends on type of wheel. Rims that take alot of air to seat the tire can usually run lower pressures. We had one set of wheels that were especially easy to seat the tires and they would also unseat with low pressures while racing at Jacksonville.

Andy, I just put a Junior LO206 on a cadet kart. Pain in the A$$ but can be done with patience. Luckily, the cadet kart never came with a welded right seat strut. Used a clamp on strut instead. Did not even use the left hand welded strut either. Just used another clamp on strut. Why don’t you bring it by my house and let me look at it. I might come up with some ideas and as you know, I’m quite familiar with both Kosmic karts and the Briggs engines/components.

I logged out then logged back in thinking that would restore the missing icons. Did not work. Since the link for “new posts since last visit” was never fixed, I have been using “new post last day” as recommended by ekarting. That link has now disappeared.

Andy, I believe your biggest issue will be heat cycles on tires. Your data will never be able to account for your tires, no matter how you try to slice and dice the data. We have found out over the years that no matter what, you will get slower as your keep running the same set of tires. Put on a new set and you now have skewed the data from the old set. The only way your hypothesis could be proven is by running the engine on a dyno and not entering a correction factor due to temperature, air, and humidity.

We have had karts in the past where there were different pills. The pills were numbered I, II, III, and IV, I believe. One had the numbers clockwise and the other pill was counterclockwise. To get the same caster and camber on each side, one of each was used. If you used the same pill on both sides, you could either have the same caster or the same camber, but not both. This was in the vicinity of 2006 on a shockwave cadet kart.

I used the “New Posts since last visit” today and it seemed to work. It listed the same posts as “New Posts Last Day”. Is it fixed? I was wondering since you state you are looking at it but will you let us know when it’s fixed or are we left to just trying it occasionally and guessing whether it is working or not? Feedback on problems identified would be appreciated.

If you can not find a fix for this, why do you continue to even list it as an option? It’s been almost four months since I originally asked about this and it’s still not fixed yet the option is still there.

I was aware of the other options and frequently use them also. The one that is most useful to me is the one I identifed. And I also get no posts at times on the first page yet they are obviously there when I look. For instance, I just checked the New Posts since last visit and there were none. I then when into the forum and found the above posts which were all made since my last visit (including yours).
