      Racers,

Here are a few updates before you leave for #lsgp2014.

Registration will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Kreuz BBQ.

All participants must personally sign the waiver to receive their wristband.  (Someone else can purchase it but you must personally sign – insurance requirement.)

The Tire Desk will be at Glosserman’s Napa.  Please present the voucher for tires that you receive at Registration in order to receive your tires.  It will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.  You must pick up your tires on Friday.

Pre-Tech will be close to the Tire Desk and will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pre-Tech opens in the Tech Area next to the grid on Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m.  If you did not have an opportunity to sign for and receive your wristband on Friday we will have them at the Tech Area.  We will not sell them there.  This is just for pick up.

The chances of rain continue to decrease.

Safe travels.  We will see you on Friday.

Jimmy,  LSGP 2014 fields look good across the board and are up about 30% over last year.  We don’t publish entry lists.  We appreciate racers talking about racing with us and we talk about racers who give us specific permission to do so.  It is fair to say some heavy hitters are coming.  Some have raced with us before and some are making their first appearance.

Reminder: The price of entry goes up again on 1.31.14 at midnight.

Based upon entries actually received and confirmations from racers entries will exceed 220 for LSGP 2014 and are likely to exceed 230.

Stock Honda Light will have 40+ entries.

TaG  Sr., Masters and Stock Honda Heavy will have 30+ entries  as will the Chonda (Clone) class.

TaG Jr., TaG Cadet and Stock Honda Junior Restricted will all exceed last year’s entry numbers.

We expect approximately 20 entries in the Yamaha pipe class.

The prize package is now at $30,000.

<span style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;”>he LSGP Team has talked about it and here is what we are doing for classes that fill up for LSGP 2014. We will accept entries of up to 45 per class and then start a waiting list after that. While we liked the idea of a last chance qualifier it is just to cumbersome to deal with this year. </span><br style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;” /><br style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;” /><span style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;”>What this means: Stock Honda Light has 41 entries with 4 spots remaining. When the 4 spots are gone you can enter and be placed on a waiting list. If we have a cancellation you move into the top 45. If we don’t have a cancellation and persons on the waiting list are not able to race we will fully refund their money.</span><br style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;” /><br style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;” /><span style=”font-family: ‘lucida grande’, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff;”>Stock Honda Heavy is filling up as are TaG Sr., and Masters.</span>

MG is raising the price on a set of FZ tires slightly to $219 on January 1st.  Accordingly, LSGP will charge that price for tires  ordered  on or after 1.1.14.

Only 5 spots remain available for the Stock Honda Light Class for LSGP 2014.  When those are filled we will start a waiting list for the remaining 5 grid positions on the 45 kart grid in the main event.  If needed we will run a short last chance qualifier  to determine those 5 final grid positions.

The Best Western and Lockhart Inn both tell us that they are sold out for the LSGP weekend.  There are a few rooms still available at The Plum Creek Inn in Lockhart. http://www.plumcreekinn.net/index.html

There is plenty of hotel space available in San Marcos, Texas which is 15 miles away.

Reminder: The price of entry increases at midnight on 10.31.13.

Entries continue to look really good.

We have had some questions about why racers must purchase a set of tires from us.  Thank you for the questions.

We sell the tires to cover the cost of the race including the KRN Broadcast, jumbotron, barricades and other materials needed to put on the race.

In order to keep the costs down we only require you to purchase one set of tires no matter how many classes that you race on them.  You may purchase up to 1 set of tires for every class that you race in.  All qualifying and racing will be done on MG tires purchased from LSGP.

The first annual Texas 500 Kart Endurance Race is now in the books.

Thank you North Texas Karters for a great facility and great staff to work with.  Your support of our events makes them possible.

Here are a few quick facts about the race:

      1. 0 tire failures in 500 laps for 4 different classes of karts: Shifter, TAG, Yamaha and Chonda

The MG HZ tires had life left in them after the race.

That is a big compliment to MG for a great product and to the drivers for great tire      management.  The fastest lap of the race was set in lap 492.

      2. 0 crashes because of contact.  This is a huge compliment to the very talented drivers who drove this race.  The drove respectfully and fast.  The race lasted nearly 6 hours.

      3. 0 red flags

      4. 2/3 of the field completed the race

      5.  Nick Lucido returned to kart racing after a sabbatical for college.

      6. Mitch McKie stood on the top spot of the podium for two classes driving 230 laps between the two.

      7. Mike Finley came out of retirement yet again for a LSGP event.

      8. The Shelby Automotive Technology Team pulled off a podium finish in their first official racing event.

      9. Racers raced on both a dry and moist track because of a brief shower late in the race.

Finally, thank you to all of the partners who provided prizes for our racers: MG Tires, Core Karting, RPM Motorsports, VP Racing Fuel, Power Plus Synthetic Lubricants, and others.
