Any news on what may be the problem? Hope you get this sorted by next weekend!

Are these for sale and are you shipping them? I left a message last week and no reply?
If so I am interested in a set but would need shipping!

I had one shipped to me a few months back from yellow freight.
I was able to save some money also by picking it up at the dock and not having it sent to my door step.

Yes, just as easy. I use my harbor freight press for a bead breaker so I dont know any thing about good bead breakers out there. I will say my press does a great job at breaking beads. :)

Tire pryor or whatever its called. Works great and fast. There is even a u tube video on how it works.

Interesting info there.
As far as which straight, I was talking about the back straight/roller coaster into the left hand 180 turn.

I have no idea how consistent my lap times are at this point. It would be nice to pick up something this winter so I can keep track of lap times and changes I make.

David, the biggest place I notice it is the big 180 turn at the bottom of the hill before the s turns. The slower tighter turns I dont notice it so much.
I think the crazy part is that at the beginning of the day I pulled the rear torsion off completely and the kart was getting real loose in the corners. I will say that the wheel hop was less than usual. By the end of the day the temps warmed back up and I put the torsion back in and it was handling great for the final! Makes me wonder how much of it is me and not the kart at this point?

With a little more reading I see what you are talking about Matt. It is slowly sinking in…..At least I think it is. I might be best off just removing the rear torsion and see what that does.

Good info Walt. I know for a fact that I come into every corner hot. I know this from practicing alone on the track and then running with the pack. They all seem to take the corners a lot slower than I typically do. I did move my rear hubs in a bit today and I still run my rear torsion bar. I was going to go out and test today but its raining now :( We have a race tomorrow and its going to be nicer so we will find out in the morning. I figure if I still have hop I will remove the rear torsion and then just hammer down at race time and hope for the best!

I thought that the soft brush hones were frowned upon because on a two stroke with the ports in the cylinder wall it can round the port? Better to use the style with the long fingers?
But I guess if you guys are using them they must work. I will keep that in mind when It comes time to source one.

I am getting into 6th in the one big straight we have but by no means am I maxing out the rpms. Sounds like this may work out well for me.

Link is not working so I went to swedtech and looked at the gear calculator. I can see the numerical change but how does this relate? Is there something I should be looking for? They dont really give you any info other than numbers?

Thanks for the info Chris.
I did manage to find some that will work I think. We shall find out when they show up in the mail. Being you cant find any oem, and clearly they are weak, I just picked up three new cassettes and hopefully wont run into this issue again!

September 15, 2013 at 9:48 pm #10014Chris BeebeParticipant
Walt, you are correct! Just starting to tighten up the pinch bolt and SNAP the cassette broke clean off, right where one of the mounting bolts was located!
Time to make some calls in the morning to see what replacements are easily sourced!

The K might mean the bearing had a tapered bore at one point then was reworked for a straight bore. Anyway, you want a bearing that’s flat on one side. Check the link. http://www.bocabearings.com/bearing-inventory/Insert-Bearings/10668/40x80x34-SB20840MM Make sure you check the width. Just put them on and don’t try to clean and lube them with lighter oil. The factory grease will keep the balls from clutching on the straight and provide the best lube when cornering. The seals will keep the dirt out for years. I use axle collars on both sides of the left bearing and only lightly snug the set screws with some by Text-Enhance” href=”#”>loctite to keep the inner race turning with the axle. That’s it. <div class=”bbp-reply-signature”>Good info! I found that the K was for taper but looking at the bearing visually I could not find any taper! I do however have bearings on the axle that are not flush on one side. I think I will keep it this way because it helps with the axle collars to frame clearances! If I ran the flush on one side bearing I would not be able to run the collars! I even talked to a bearing supply house about the K and they were not even sure what it was. They are china bearings so maybe it has something to do with that! :)</div> -

The Fronts are CRG pattern and are 135. The rears are 210 regular metric.
I guess this wont work for me! I need metric! Thanks

How do I free the kart up?
Edit!
I found some good reading on a CRG site that talks a lot about setup and how to adjust a kart for different issues!
This should keep me occupied for a while!

I found out after my last race that I had my rear YLC tires on backwards from what the arrows say and all I can say is that the traction was perfect and I actually might try it again being the kart ran so well!

So It can be re plated but if you are bound by the rules, you would need to buy new?
Why would it be against the rules if its re plated? I would think that it would just be easier to spec a factory measurement and be done with it! Makes you wonder?
