I have been watching this post hoping someone would respond. I have had the same experience. Slower in dry conditions, but faster than others in rain. That was my first time driving in the rain, so it had to be the kart. LOL
Hopefully someone who knows more than me will respond.

I really like the Turbo Tire Changer. Fast an easy to use, breaks both beads at same time.

I have that app and I have found it to be a good tool. I do slide the “fine tuning” bars to the right about 2% just to be on the safe side of jetting. Use the GPS feature to find a local weather station and you should be good to go.
What you saw was probably the Rotax DD2, it has the rad on the left side.
No, it wasn’t a DD2, it was a FR125. -

Roman,
Do you have the pill installed in your pulse line ?
Thanks

May 9, 2016 at 7:58 am #65577Mike BruceParticipant
It actually wouldn’t reach the same RPMs. Started stumbling at 9,000 or so. I forgot to mention that I also went up to a jet of 140 during the race. Lower power, lower RPMs. I am SURE it was really rich. My buddy has the same setup, and he was running a 125 or so…… Nobody near me has had any issues. Guys at the track said gearing or jetting. I keep preaching to them that I don’t think it is carb/gearing related since the carb swap has the same exact symptom. I will as also told that the vacuum lines layout, and length are critical. I haven’t had chance to look at that yet. It am assuming that the crank position sensor is the same one as last year…..
Jon,So was it better with or without the pill?
Install an extra gasket between the sensor and the engine block. That seemed to help mine. Also, I seem to need to run 2-3 more teeth on the axel gear than my friends without the EVO kit to get the same RPMs.
I also need help. Pre-EVO upgrade, no issues. Ran all season, same jet happy. Fresh rebuild by respected and talented Rotax dealer. After upgrade, won’t run past 10,500 or so. Stumbles down long straights, power out the ass from 6,500 to 9,500. He was convinced it was jetting. Jets tried were 130, 132, 127, 125, 122, 118. Nothing worked, no low end with 118. Swapped carbs with the good original. Same thing. Stumbles at 10-10500. Tried a buddies brand new ignition, coil pack, removed the pill. Power valve is definitely opening at 7500. Now what? I miss my old engine. I ran two new series with the EVO upgrade…..MASS and Championship Enduro Series. The straightaway at Gateway sure gives you a long time to think about the “upgrade”. Everything is grounded, mounted with the new wiring harness upgrade version. Everyone that ran Rotax this weekend had the kits still in the box….. Thanks, Jon
Jon, I feel that my problem was solved by putting the gasket on the crank sensor. That’s when mine improved the most. I have a question for you …. what difference did you feel with and without the pill in the line?
Loosen up side pods, rear bumper, if you have rear torsion bar remove it, remove one seat strut, and go higher on tire pressure. Leave the caster at max. Where is your seat at from axle to lip? Where is your front and rear track at?
Freddy,Tightening the side pods made it better to get it to where it is now. No rear torsion bar, seat is at Arrow recommended setting. I don’t remember the exact measurement. Rear is at 55″ outside to outside of rears tires. Front track is at 44″ outside to outside.
Which side should I remove a strut from ? Left or right ?

February 20, 2017 at 4:40 pm #78419Mike BruceParticipant
Tony, thanks for the suggestions. I do have the seat mounted as recommended by Arrow and I am very close to 40/60 distribution. The handling has gotten better the more I move the seat back. The problem is I am running out of legs. LOL. I have my pedals all the way back and a 15 degree spacer under the steering wheel. A longer steering shaft would make it to high and even more uncomfortable. There is a lower mounting point for the steering support but mounting there changes the angles on the steering arms.
