Get the money to Robert. He works hard to put together these test days. He shouldn’t have to chase after people.
Thanks Robert for the work. Hopefully we can have enough people for a single day.

Revely’s will be down for the two day weekend.

I have three races in a row booked the first part of May. So I won’t be able to make 5/12.
If you can swing something during the week, I will be there.

First I want to thank Robert for putting this together. It was an amazing feat to secure a full two day weekend of testing. Much appreciated Brother!! Sorry the weather isn’t behaving.
With that said, I would suggest that we start working on April 2019 much sooner to secure a later weekend moving forward.

Revely Racing is ready to put in the work. New tires on the kart and 3 new sets mounted in reserve. Ten gallons of fuel.

Yes, a full weekend!!!

January 15, 2018 at 5:38 pm #90151Jerry RevelyParticipant
Revely’s vote for 7 – 8 first.
That way the last minute tax people still have time to get their stuff done.
14 – 15 could be potential make-up dates.

No worries. You always know I have a full test program to get through. I don’t mind being first out!
We are already planning for a two day format in April. I will be getting two more sets of tires to make it to the end, lol.
Great times!!

Robert, yet another great test day. Thank you Brother!!
I would highly recommend attending if you want to really get answers on set-ups and test ideas. You get more track time than four race event weekends combined. You get to test things without the pressure of a race weekend format. I wore out a brand new set of tires with the amount of laps turned.
I tested three different pipes; two or three different flex lengths on each pipe; and changed the set-up on my main engine.
Next I swapped to my back up engine which was a fresh rebuild. I took five laps breaking it in. I then tested two pipes; and another set-up on the back up engine.
By far the best money spent for information gained!!!!

Kart fitted with new tires and brake pads. All loaded and waiting. We are thinking about coming up that Saturday.

Another successful test session. We accomplished more than we could in four race weekends. Ran enough laps to wear out the new set of tires. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks Robert!
-
February 8, 2015 at 9:53 pm #41922Jerry RevelyParticipant
Robert, you know I will be there.
@ Kerry, a race weekend doesn’t afford enough time to test things outside of race set-up for that particular weekend.

Johnny,
I will attend: 100cc Sit-up pipe
Where do we send the check?

I will assume that you are not coming to a stand still on track for your longest straight run. With that said for discussion sake, any deviation in the corner leading up to this straight can effect your results at the end of the straight.
Any trajectory deviation in the corner, any throttle deviation, any brake deviation, etc. will make comparing results interesting. How do you know if the set up change made the difference or maybe the deviation of the driving line was the real difference?
Add in barometer changes, wind changes, cloudy or sunny changes, temperature swings, and tire grip level changes, it adds more complexity to evaluating results.
With a dyno, you have less variables to worry about.
Neither method is without potential error. IMHO the dyno has the better repeatability.
As always, the stopwatch is the final word. Run whatever yields the quickest lap.
