I forgot to mention that yes, the engine has been built as Stock Honda.  All parts are stock and unmodded.  I was planning to race as such.  The only things missing are the exhaust pipe and silencer.  The radiator and all hoses are there, Mychron 4 2t and sensors are there as well.  Brakes are solid as I rebuilt the master and added all new brake fluid.  I can’t think of anything else it needs to run besides the exhaust, oil and gas.

The kart was sitting in a garage when I picked it up so I cleaned everything I could to make it like new.   The frame has been freshly powder coated.  The only thing I can’t guarantee is how straight the frame is, when I had it coated the shop I took it to just roughly looked it over.  The previous owner told me it was never crashed and after carefully looking over the frame I had no reason to doubt him.  The frame wasn’t flat spotted anywhere or bent or crushed so we assumed it was straight enough as I was only to race it casually.  The powder coating on the frame is almost flawless.

Hi Dan, I have never run the motor as I ran out of funds before I could finish the build.  I assure you that every peice is new however (except trans which is still in great shape).  I took the trans out of an older CR125, ordered new engine parts, and built the engine from scratch.  Gas has never been put into the tank, carb or engine.

I can get receipts from Shark Shifter and Fastech Racing that show everything that I bought new.

It shifts through all 6 gears, I just never got a chance to run the motor.  I have pictures of the build and if it would make you feel more comfortable I can tear the motor down to component parts to verify that they are new and unused, except the trans of course.

If you can text me at 847-477-2131 I can send you pictures of the engine assembly as I documented the entire build as I was going along.

The kart is in amazing shape with new parts all over.  I really wish I could have finished the build but unfortunately I was not able to do so.  I will be moving out of state and I will not be able to take it with me.  If you are in the area you are more than welcome to stop by to take a look at it.  I also am including a second cart stand and some misc. engine tools for the CR125 that I used for the build, I just forgot to list those in the sale thread.

      thank you you for looking.

Design a replaceable sticker that is applied before every race.  The sticker is textured such that it will leave a residue on the offending driver’s bumper when hit hard enough.  After the race you can view the front or rear of the bumpers to see who has been rubbing and penalize accordingly.  This way we can keep the bumpers and the safety they “may” provide, while also being able to officially call out repeat offenders.

What this doesn’t fix is people brake-checking or using other nefarious maneuvers, however it can show who is constantly causing trouble and allow officials to more closely monitor them (you can be called out more easily if you constantly have someone else’s sticker on your bumper).  The material can also be trademarked and coded so that nobody can alter or replicate the material easily.  If you never get hit or never hit anyone else, you will never have to replace your material unless you win and are checked for legality.

As a side note, I must be the only one that likes the current plastic bodywork.  It gives the kart a level of safety (even if that safety may be exploited from time-to-time), while also keeping the karts from looking like something out of Mad Max.  As long as the plastics don’t get overly obnoxious I think they give a certain level of style to the karts, while also giving us enough space for unique graphic patterns.

Also I picked up the Swedetech  actuator and kick start plugs; do I remove the rubber oil seals before install them so they will mount flush, or do I install them on top of the rubber oil seals?

      thank you

Are those legal for stock moto?  Which of them is more preferred?

I ordered the proper hone for the cylinder, I’ll see if it can be touched up.  If. The hone doesn’t work then I’ll call millenium like you recommended.

      Thank you for the help

Thanks, I’ve seen those before and they are very helpful, but it only briefly covers the removal of the actuator rod.  I’m assuming this is left out for kart racing since all the built engines I have seen are removed.  since the cylinder is in need of repair as it sits I’ll just hit it with a standard hone and hope for the best.  If it ends up going out of spec I’ll just buy a new cylinder or have it sleeved.
You haven’t looked well enough John :-) Ribtect 4
haha apparently I haven’t, ty for the info!

Question, this new material doesn’t seem as high-tech as the carbon weave of the Ribtect 3, I had seen pictures but I assumed it was a preliminary photo.  How is the price compared to the Ribtect 3?  Definitely getting the 4!!
Hello Sabastian, you can order a new Ribtect4 now. The Dealer may not have it in stock yet, but we can drop ship to you right away. Thanks Robby Mott Ribtect
Any info on changes to the Ribtect 4?  I can’t seem to find any info online, other than pictures of the ‘ Ribtect 4’ logo.

      Thank you

I called the number you gave me for the guy in Antioch (Dave), and he was of great help.  He was able to find me a reasonable rate, around $220 from CA.  I also called Viking and LAD as you recommended and they were  a big help as well.

      Thank you for the info!

Ok awesome help guys, I’ll just get the 2t (hopefully I can find someone selling one cheap on here) and just run the EGT and water temps.  I have the phone tunning app from the AppStore and I have read that it’s a pretty good baseline for tuning.  I’ll stay on the safe side so I can at least enjoy the thing for now without running into any major headaches.

Thanks for the input, I don’t really have any way of analyzing the data after a session as I’m going to be casually running the kart for now until I get the hang of it.  I never thought of using the GPS unit but I’m surely looking into that now.  If I was to buy another temp sensor and switch them back and forth I might as well go with the 2t since the prices will be close after I buy a regular mychron and a second temp sensor.  It’s just a large investment and I know the features are nice, however I just wanted to make sure all these features were really nessasary.

I noticed that there is a temp sensor that mounts on the spark plug, is this better to use or should I just stick with water temp and EGT for stock moto?  My #1 concern right now is making sure the engine doesn’t melt; the guy I got the kart from melted the piston and I just want to make sure it doesn’t happen again after spending money on a lot of new parts.
