It’s doing what it is supposed to do. 24:1 ratio and keep the revs up, as high as you can after warm up.  Anything below 8K RPM will foul the plug, I am surprised it idles at all.

KX 125 was competitive somewhat…. I ran one for a few races and liked it, it was competitive back in the era your kart ran it’s first few years. Back then all moto motors where somewhat modded and ran together, now the wrold has changed and the classes are Stock Honda dominated with some ICC’s, KX125 is not allowed to run with Stock Honda and will probably not be very competitive agaist ICC, it’s right inbetween.

See if this one can be straightened.  Post WTB in chassis, you may find someone with this exact kart sitting in a garage, but not likely.  Your chassis is 14 years old, may be better off getting a used shifter roller that is newer.  But since you have a KX and that means you race recreationaly, just straighten the frame and keep running it.

Thanks Chuck. Looks like they did end up shortening the race because of darkness, also last year the race was one month later in the year, meaning one hour or so less daylight time.  And according to the sheet they had 35 start the final, which is close enough to track max of 34:)  Good move running everyone together.

Chris, do you know if it was with or without the “chicane” before the straight?  Wast it even an option in 2010?

Interesting to see people have problems with 428 chain, in my experience they are as bullet proof as cr125 transmission:)  Few suggestions, works for me.  In the beginning of the season  buy 3 chains.  I then grind the pin on a side of the link to set desired length. The reason for 3 chains is to have 3 different length chains for different gear combinations.  Once I have the 3 chains set to length I never use the chain breaker, I use “master” links to get chains off and on.  428 chains last a season for me. Lube a few times a day.
