Hi Everybody!
I am looking forward to racing at Laguna Seca because there are still a couple of racers I want to beat!! I have spent hours and hours working on my kart in preparation for the privilege to turn faster lap times than 95% of all the four or two wheeled vehicles on the planet! I pass cleanly because I can’t afford any more time or money to spend if I crash, besides, the worst feeling in the world is damaging someone else’s kart because I didn’t think! Racing to my full potential always makes me feel best! See you at the track!
P.S If you have never tried roadracing, the next race is June 30th at Thunderhill and NCK has a first time race fee of $150 to try us out. Stop and say hello when you come. #11

Hi Derek,
I hope you get your wish and you enjoy racing as much as I do. I have a PVP and a Rotax 257, but that’s not what you asked me! I recommend that you buy a kart from Ian Harrison or at least get his advice because he is the best person to ask and he will make sure you get what you pay for. I see that you live on the east coast (very important) and I have read your post so I will do my best to advise from the west coast. Several people have bought Anderson Mavericks with Honda CR250s and they are very pleased with what Ian has shipped them. Some people have bought karts privately and have had limited success with their purchase. Here’s the question you have to ask yourself. Do I want to race competitively or do I want to race what I bring to the track and be satisfied with wherever that leaves me. If you want to race competitively in your region with several competitors showing up to all the races then you have some research to do. What is the superkart community racing on the east coast? How many events, how many competitors in which classes, and where are the races being held. I bought my kart out of a barn. I knew the kart and the person who raced it so I knew it was a winner. I had to restore it though and it was more work than I could do alone. I have been racing in IKF and NCK for 24 years. Roger Miller (IKF President), and some of his closest friends, has been keeping roadracing alive on the West coast one racer at a time. We have supported the ICE class because it is the least expensive and least complicated among the superkart classes. Good luck in your quest and we (superkart racers in the USA) are happy you are joining us!

HEY! It looks like the weather is going to cooperate and I got my racing info packet in the mail yesterday! I am so fired up about racing with all these racers from all over the country. Can’t wait to meet all my fellow karting fanatics.

Hey Cole or Howden, do you have any contact info or do you know where JR can get this info? I find it unbelievable that no one has chimed in!

NCK would like to thank everyone who has entered already. Please check your email that was sent to you when you entered to ensure you have:
1. paid for the number of days and classes each day that you want to race and
2. compare your entry to dlb’s web site and confirm that you got it right.
something this important deserves a second look!

There are a couple of racers I race with today that I think are some of the best and a couple I haven’t seen in a while who were the fastest: Vince Puleo from Northern California, and Anthony Williams from Southern California can be found at NCK races and many people stop what they are doing in the pits just to watch them! Eddie Lawson used to come and lay down beautiful laps in his 250 twin cylinder Superkart and Kyle Martin still holds the track record at Laguna Seca in J.R. Clausen’s 250 single cylinder superkart. As David Coultard expressed after driving a superkart, these guys are insane!

Hi Ray, we are over 250 entries from all over the US! Although they are not entered yet (like the 125 racers{thanks!}) I estimate 40 unlimited, IC-E, FKE-III and Unlimited entries will be coming! Lots of groups of racers from various clubs around the country are planning together to make this the best race I have attended in the last quarter century!

We are spoiled here on the left coast! Sure would be better though, if more of the East coast karters could make it to our Laguna Seca 2 day race March 25-26. We have over 250 entries so far and many national caliber pilots are already committed to coming. Hope you can make it?!

After our last Thunderhill race where I lost 6th gear at the end of the straight and the rear wheels locked solid at over 100mph I put my sprague hub back on at the Sonoma race. I will continue to use the sprague.

Hi Jeff,
Twins can pass the 92db limit by using bigger exhaust silencers and intake airboxes. adding a second silencer to the first has also had the desired affect. Remember, everyone has the same restriction so even if it limits horsepower everyone has the same limit. Let’s make this the biggest bucket list race of the century!
