And you can win with them.

I seriously doubt you will see any performance difference you can feel or measure by changing the thickness of the base gasket. I would not consider it a tuning tool.
The head clearance is where you will see an increase. If it’s optimized to the minimum without hitting and, centered on the bore, it will burn more efficiently and that counts for allot.
Increases in compression ratio (to a point) will benefit the lower rpm band but the increase in compression ratio from a gasket change is minuscule.

Alan, if you use a pipe tap make sure the threads on the fitting don’t shank out. You want the fitting to tighten up with most of the threads in the block but some thread showing. If you need sealer it’s not tapped right but teflon paste is ok.

That’s a shame. I don’t know why they’re closing but I can tell you their web site was the worst thing you could ever try to buy something from. I went there a few times trying to figure it out because I was a good customer of Russell at one time but that web site was very hard if not impossible to use. I went right over to Comet Kart Sales, excellent user friendly web site.

It’s amazing how some kart shops just throw in a small piston to make a quick buck.

I use chain wax spray and it sticks real good.

Ive heard you can take out all the bolts and get enough gap to get a new gasket in there even with the seals in place. Never tried it myself.

That looks like a hard track to pass on.

My Ace hardware had some black gas line that was big enough.

Can you get the engine farther to the left? The chain guard should be right up against the seat strut. Trim some off the chain guard if you can. From the chain to the edge of the chain guard it could be 1/2″ minimum. With 1-3/4″ offset, how do you get the sprocket far enough to the right?

I can’t imagine the Hillard fire would burn up any different than any other clutch. Keep chain oil off of it and don’t abuse it and it will last a long time.
8:1 is not high compression, just use regular gas.

I’ve run the Jr plastic tank and the aluminum 2qt. and I use about 1-1/2 pints with a KT100. I fill 3/4 full and have enough at the end so I don’t starve for fuel. Best thing is you don’t have allot of fuel left over after the races and the plastic tank is easy to take off and clean.

How much did you heat them and how fast? If it’s too low and slow it gives the bearing time to heat and expand which doesn’t help. Pre heat oven to 350 and put it in for 15 minutes. You’ll need gloves to handle it and it cools off quick so set up everything before hand and work fast.
You have to move the inner spacer to the side to expose the inner race of the bearing, then use a drift punch to pound on the inner race. If the bearing tilts you need to move the spacer to the other side and pound it again to straighten it out. The hub has to be supported with something solid and you have to hit it hard sometimes depending on the fit. On some you can actually do it cold.
When you put the new bearings in DON’T FORGET THE SPACER LOL.
Hope that helps,

Can’t go wrong with straight ahead. Slightly toe out for tight tracks (1/3 mile or less) and slightly toe in for enduro tracks (1-1/2 miles or more).

I would hate to depend on a 3 gal tank to change a tire and I’d say maybe on a 5 gal tank. The good thing about karting is there are allot of people with compressors at the track that would let you fill your tank.

Maybe they oil down their engines when they’re done racing.
Maybe it’s the way they shut down. If you rev it then cut it quick it will not load up with oil, if you let it wind down slow and die it will have a bunch of oil in it on start up.Can you keep pace with them? Maybe they have to be richer because they’re pushing hard.
BTW, Klotz Super Techniplate is 20% castor.

If you’re going to bolt the pedals to the belly pan, make sure the belly pan is not cracked and the bolts are in good condition that hold it to the frame. Always put the heads on the bottom. If you run over someone you don’t want bolts hanging down like meat hooks.
