Sorry on delay of response as I was at PRI Show this past week.
Our standard starting point for Daytona (with our Leopards) was
16-73. We’d adjust as needed up or down a few teeth pending wind direction and what would benefit me the most for the long straight and finish line shoot out in the tri-oval. Hope this helps you on the X-30. Race Safe. Good Luck and Have FUN at Daytona! If you ever need additional gearing setups (TaG) for most of the RR tracks or race/setup suggestions. feel free to reach out to me at Streeter. (262) 457-5018 or email me at jeffw@ghilaser.com -

SKE and QRC are both quality setups and companies. Since/if you are in the Charlotte area, to get going it may be best to work with Kyle Beattie at SKE. Also, once things get going back in full swing at Millbridge- most folks out there will surely and openly help out with any information you need. It’s quite a popular place for the winged outlaw karts. A quick Google of “winged outlaw karts” will open a lot of information and there are quite a few Winged Outlaw Karts For Sale pages on Facebook. Hopefully you’ll enjoy driving and racing these things as much as we have!

Don’t feel bad. WKA has yet to “repair” a finishing order debacle due to improper tech procedures at Daytona LAST December. Competitors in the particular class were also told they’d receive letters of explanation and apology. Only thing I’ve received from them is my membership renewal form and sponsorship request letters.

I’m Happy with my Racewear (brand) Kart Cover. A fair amount of EKN supporting shops carry them. These have kept my karts clean and dry. The elastic bottom fits well and we’ve not had any problems with them coming off in typical environments.

Single Core. Was great on keeping my TaG cool. Reason selling is that I preferred to use stock radiator for road racing on big tracks (aero).

Yeah, by August the weather might actually warm up a bit at Summit Point. Was a tad cool last weekend. ;)
Not sure DC could make this race. There are no In-N-Out Burger Franchises in the area.

Gaynor Jr won both days in Stock Leopard. Greg Hurberle and I were in the hunt on Saturday though I dnf’d and Greg also had some issues and dropped back.
Sunday was pretty much all Gaynor up front.
SP (Main Course) is one of the neatest and fastest RR tracks to run at. Fun facility. You’d enjoy it.

A fellow racer/friend of mine wrecked into the back of a safety truck parked adjacent to a trackside. While out of site-line as not to make it alarming to any racers, said vehicle moved to different position while track was conducting kart pick up during “green” practice session. While on track (the racer) spun out on track and rolled backwards into the rear bumper/hitch of the truck. Shoulder, Arm and Helmet took the hit. Other than some minor cuts and bruises- he was fine. Thankfully, very very lucky I say to have only had that.

As I and probably others expected; that throws the statement from AKRA out the window of not adding races in. Well, I suppose he did use “at this time” in that original statement. ;)

From what I recall and have on reference here at the shop in past WKA Rule Books:
310.1 Rear View Mirrors
Are allowed provided they are mounted securely and safely to the kart and do not present a hazard to other vehicles. They are not to be used as an aggressive device to facilitate blocking.*I’ll do some additional searching Ace, so don’t hold me to it as the RR Rules Sheets I have here (for general reference) are from 2012. I can check my “current” 2014 WKA copy when I get home.

Our schedule is a little bit of everything. While still nothing firmed up, we’ll be at a mixture of WKA NRRS, DKC, WKC, a smidge of CES and I’d like to try and get out with the KART group if possible. We’ll be out more than last season, but not solidly chasing any particular points or group and making adjustments if we have any sprint car dates. Would have liked to gotten over for the MKC date at Michigan International- though that weekend (for us) falls on NASCAR Weekend at Chicago which I am committed to be at for work.
Looking forward to getting back out with you all. Interesting times ahead for road racing. Get out and support what you can folks! :)

I share the same sentiments as Tim. Mary is great to work with at The Decal Zone. They’ve done custom bodywork kits for me in the past and also some custom tray decals for our Streeter Big Foor Stands. Great product and reasonable prices. Everything I’ve ordered has always come from their shop in Canada.

While I can not comment on its use or comfort factor for a youth, I personally do not find The Valhalla 360 to be restrictive and have used it for sprint and road racing. Once adjusted, it’s comfortable to wear. I’ve stated prior that it is one of the best, most impressive and worthwhile pieces of safety equipment I’ve ever purchased. I would never kart race with out my Valhalla 360.
