Living in KY, I waited for this event since it was announced over a year ago. I was not disappointed.
The cooperation and commitment to work TOGETHER for the greater good of the sport, was a breath of fresh air which Road Racing desperately needs. This is in stark contrast to the “I’ll take my ball and go home” attitude that exists in some circles. To K. Read, R. Harper, B. Long etc….and the many others who made this event possible I say – take a bow.
Despite some challenging weather, every scheduled race was run, and to my knowledge, there were NO red Flags the entire weekend. Well done to the drivers for behaving themselves, (acknowledging that I was punted in the pit lane at start of Sat. race, but never mind) and hopefully making a good first impression on the folks at NCM.
I really hope this race weekend was well received by all concerned and that WKA/KART whomever can book another date in the future. Again, great weekend of racing and a welcome treat for the Road Racing crowd – always good to race at a new venue.

Aaron and his father Hans are a great example of the type of people that make our sport so great. Although Aaron only started racing within the last couple of years, he was really starting to get pretty good – I was reminded of this when he came flying by me for the race lead at Gingerman last year!
You will not find a nicer family, or more friendly people then Louise, Hans, and Aaron. Lets show this wonderful family what a great community we have in RR Karting. How about everyone that can, donate at least $90 – that is barely a race entry and it takes less than 5 min.

Gordy,
Depends on what Engine, your weight, etc……16-78 sounds about right.
Just to clarify:
For a WKA Road Race there is no TAG “Master” class. We either run TAG or TAG Heavy. If you’ve never been to M/O you are in for quite a treat! Hope to see you there….I will be in Garage # 10 if you need any help. -

Chris,
Agree with comments above. Rotax engine is very reliable and is a great package for a beginner. The “rebuilds” mentioned above are about right – 20hrs for top end, 40hrs for bottom end. Like any racing engine, maintenance and proper care is the key. I recommend Motul oil I have used for several years and NEVER had an on track engine failure with the Rotax.
BTW: I am selling a CRG/Rotax package complete turn key ready to race. I also have a spare Rotax with New Radiator, pipe, WIring harness, Airbox, carb etc….for sale. Send me a PM me if interested. I take very good care of my equipment and have seals and passports for both engines.

First time to BFR in over 20yrs – Wow. Track is good, the event was well run, the racing was intense, and the weather was BEAUTIFUL – take a bow CES/RVKC. Great job by all involved – I will be coming back for sure. See you all at Gingerman!
