Depending on the pump you have it can be different. I have the round Dellotro fuel pump and it has has one inlet and to outlets and a pulse hook up. I plumb both outlets into one line and then add a T fitting into the single line before the carb. One line goes to the carb and the other I send back to the tank as a return to bleed off some pressure from the pump so the bowl is not over filled. I also have a breather line coming off the carb that I run to a catch can in case the bowl is over filled. This works for my engine setup, it may not work for yours but its easy to try and cheap to do.

Its probably because your pumping more fuel into the carb then it can handle and thus the reason for it “pissing out”. This can be fixed by doing the pump around mod or you can bleed off some feed pressure by adding a T fitting in the the feed line and then plumb that feed line back into the return line. The easiest method would be to add a T fitting and bleed off some pressure, it will be the cheapest and fastest and it might work but results may very on it.

Bump!
Alright So i have had some time to get the kart all cleaned up and redone to be as new and fresh as possible. That being said I am replacing my current piston at this time and I went with the 05 factory Honda piston. Now my question here is there is a noticeable size difference than the piston I am replacing. Is it a simple drop in and check squash or do I need a spacer for the 05 piston to make up for the size difference?

To the gent who was talking about the formula 500/600 cars. The F500 will use a belt as their is no gear box but the F600 will use a chain as it does have a gear box.

Christian you are right on the money with the rounded dogs. I called Mike over at shark shifter and he explained it all to me and you pretty much echoed what he told me. My shifter rod has no play in it and is super tie and doesn’t flex in either direction. With the case separated I looked at the spacing in the gears and it all seems pretty good nothing to excessive. I did take a closer look at 5th and the other cluster and it looks like I need to replace some gears. When I was talking to Mike I had him send me the parts needed to correct this as he had them in stock and could ship out that same day. I should have the parts Thursday and will compare them once its all apart.
I think to help reduce gear wear I am going to send out all gear box internals to have the REM treated by Taylor Race Engineering (isotropic finishing).

I have the 360 device and it’s awkward at first but once your in the kart racing its like its not even there. I did have and accident skidding backwards at 65mph into hay bails and pillow barriers and can say it did it’s job when my head went back upon impact. I walked away unharmed and did not have a sore neck or back at all.

If you run the 01 vs 99 is there a difference in ignition setup?

I have a Pavesi and the oils are changed every 3 race weekends. I tend to do more sprint racing then road racing but oil is cheap insurance to me so it gets changed often. In the gear box I use amsoil and in the wet clutch I use Toyota WS trans fluid since I have alot of it. And if you want your trans to shift effortlessly I highly recommend looking into getting all moving/wearing parts in the gearbox REM treated. If you want to know more about REM treating or where to get it done http://www.taylor-race.com will be a big help.

I agree that a longer bed will give you more space but its a horse a piece. I can also fit everything I need plus extras and still comfotablly drive my self and three other people with me to the event. I have the standard bed with my kart sitting on ramps/benches as you can see in the picture i posted above. I can fit tires, tool box, fuel, 10×20 pop up cannopy chairs, grill, cooler, kart stand, and whatever else i can throw in there. plus the benches my kart sits on also doubles and bench in and out of my truck for extra seating. then inside i have al my safety gear under the rear seat with a few other odds and ends. I also have enough room for myself and 3 other passengers that may tag along with me. I am not saying this is a best way to transport your kart equpiment and people to an event but just to show you it can be done and you can stll be comfortable doing so.

Andrew, I have a 2008 toyota tundra double cab with the standard bed. I can fit the kart in the truck with everything I need to run. With a front bumper and rear bumper the kart fits perfectly. I built ramps that are 15″ high that the kart sits on this way I can put the stand, tool box, air tank, tires, fuel, spare motor and any other essentials i need under it. all the other gear goes in the truck to keep that from being damaged since that is the most important.] -

Alright the kart is running I hope to see you guys on Sunday! I just hope I can get my carb sorted out. I am also running 17/24 on a pavesi, I was told to run 19/25 but I do not have those gears and 17/24 was as close as i could get to that.

I will be picking up my cylinder jugs today and breaking in my engine Saturday. That means I should be able to race this weekend if all goes as planed. I just hope my Pavesi can keep up!! And since it’s my first time in a shifter at Blackhawk I think I may start in the back of the grid so I don’t cause any issues.

I really hope I am able to get my engine together to race with everyone on Sunday. Since it blew a rod bearing it has been nothing but a pain in my a**!

If I can pick up mycylinder jugs by Thursday I will probably end up racing. If I can race I will most likely still come out to spectate and meet some of you guys. And for the 2014 season me angrit coworker are going to try and make all of theevents.

I really hope I can make this! I missed out on the earlier event and once again I am cutting it close. I do have a question to ask. I am not a member of CES yet, and from my understanding you need to buy a weekend membership to join the club at Black hawk. Am I able to pay for registration and a small weekend membership at the gate if I show up. I also do not have a transponder, am I able to rent one at the track?

Would the tech sav carb setup that Tom Barth uses work on this motor or is this motor the odd ball when compared to other KZ engines.
