Contact info doesn’t get answered? I disagree, I personally answer every email on a daily basis. Hegar4@Comcast.net for a direct question or machine files, 503-659-1234 8-4 pacific time I am always here. No I’m sorry we will not sell parts and pieces unless we are supporting one of our starters in the field. Selling pieces for custom builds can lead to others thinking we made an inferior product if it’s seen and not reliable or just plain old ugly. We also offer excellent support for what we make, our customers are all close friends or we like to think they are. In repeating what we tell all callers about the starter which included Mike the other day, when we have open machine time we will produce this item again but as of now production parts for mainstream industry have us tied up. We are hoping to be able to offer starters again very soon, please keep in touch on a monthly basis and I will update our position.

I can see that for a bit we (Hegar) will be limited to close events due to kids sports but soon that will slow and we will aim again towards more road events kid included. I think PKA is letting go of ORP and possibly PIR soon due to rising costs so we will definitely be doing your events which I prefer anyway due to the tracks offered. Having taken a season off myself I’m starting to gather more interest in it so were looking for another car that I can call my own since mine was overtaken by my offspring. Probably have 3 of us in stock Honda headed your way soon so practice up guys, as a wise man once said “I ain’t as good as I once was but I’m as good once as I ever was” ;-)

So your running on the old track with the steep hill out front for this event?
-
September 4, 2015 at 1:13 pm #53862Chris HegarParticipant
Thanks guys!
After his testing at ORP we think he’s good to go I just prefer the better runoff tracks since I have to explain things to his mother should anything happen. If we were talking about just me it wouldn’t matter, I’m expendable. I think we will keep him close to home through next season just to expand on his actual race craft vs trying to learn a track and deal with the other monkeys flying around him.
Infenion would be a perfect time to let him run but with minimal practice I don’t want him in over his head. If things continue to progress we may take a trip next year so tell your boys to tune up just in case the black cars unload.

It’s very hard to find a starter unit that will fit in your seat and through a hole to start a 125 with but it can be done. We also started 125 laydowns and TM moto packages the same with a large real kart starter but it’s a pain. Pretty good compression from a 125 especially when it’s been sitting around cold makes me think the drill idea isn’t gonna cut it. Our piece is compact, user friendly and durable, that’s what we attempted to build for the operator, $649 is a lot of cash but once you spend the time to create a system that actually works you’ll find you wish you had asked more. Set of tires is $250-$275, it’s a consumable, gas $6+ per gallon also consumable, these are items a 125 eats daily but we don’t hesitate to pay for. $499 Mychron, $770 expansion pack, AMB transponder, items like this don’t give up and are all on par with our starter’s life span. Were not trying to rob anyone but this item was lots of work and it does have a good group standing behind it. It’s not for everyone but it is here if you need it.

Fuel type/oil and plug heat range are also variables to consider.

I believe Maxipad set that drafting through a group. We were all within a tenth I think. Big front pack, that’s another reason you see a faster best time.

In 2012 MyLaps shows 1:46.5 as a fast lap for stock and I know we turned 1:44.5 with the ICC cars, a green track like you cats had always feels fast but it’s pretty tough to gather grip.

As noted above in my comments, IKF would also need to take the risk with the club that supports a program like this. The other thought that’s been kicked around and down the stairs many times over is a joint host with PKA and NCK. Not likely due to so many cooks in the kitchen between both clubs though.
In my opinion the Infenion Turkey weekend event isn’t often a bad weather program so I’d skip thinking about hot summer and aim towards risking rain tires and lower rental prices. Just my opinion.

Having ran Miller twice with USKGP it was obvious the draw was not enough to pull all our dedicated runners out of IKF land hoping to bring in new midwest/east coast faces because it’s Miller. Millers field the second time around was also smaller and I think failed to create any profit and that’s using the full circuit. NCK has the largest fields so it should be centered around those IKF people. A track like Infenion or Laguna would draw midwest people and already draws everyone from the NW. They are famous stand alone tracks the only reason we don’t see more travelers making the currently offered events are because they are 1 day. Give em 3 or even 2 and some nice practice and your looking at big numbers. All we need is a massive cash donation and it’s on!

Kelly I think you should probably vote for Heavy piston port instead of medium. Pants looked a little tight last month, I think your odds of making weight would be greater going HEAVY. I mean yea you got a nice ass and all but overall I think victory for you might be in the tank ass class.

Deep thoughts by Jack Handy
IKF National event rr survival is going to need some sort of revamp if it’s going to happen. IKF has to want the name associated with a big track event. Some sort of club incentive has to be offered from IKF with the possibility of loss being taken by IKF as well not just the club.
That being said clubs taking on a one off national must present it in a way at a place that draws people vs just having a gathering because we have not done it in a year or years. The track, time, $ and advertising must be solid and presented in event form early enough that a person has time to work towards it and look forward to it. Classes must be kept to a minimal and common.
In my mind the track options are Infenion or Laguna for any national draw. I can gain you runners from the midwest and probably farther with those places but the other tracks new or old on the west coast are either unknown or to far away from real off track entertainment.
Love to go to another national especially after having a great time at KART’s national event last month but from the way I understand it were going to need changes from higher up IKF to make that happen. KART also has the best BBQ we have ever had hands down so were gonna need some of that fer sure.

The older model we run do very well in road race against open mod Honda and other ICC models, no complaints here.
