Sorry, we made our move to soon. City of Garnett has approved the event to proceed as scheduled. They had a discussion with the Emergency Task Force and they approved the event. Of course that comes with guidelines and restrictions. Garnett Enduro Club will be putting the race on as scheduled. We will certainly have some changes, so more updates to come.
KART.org will be updated soon with additional information.

Thank you Linda! I did post the information in the Lake Garnett Thread. However, it does seem beneficial to make a new thread.
The rescheduled date will be September 29th & 30th. It will move into the HPT slot on the original Kart schedule for 2018.

Thank you Linda! Totally beat me to the punch, nicely done. We will be ready & Happy to see everyone after not being able to attend Lake Afton!
Garnett Enduro Club would like to invite all road racers to the first race of the 2016 KART/RUSSELL KARTING SPECIALTIES/MARRS event June 10th & 11th at the historical lake Garnett Park road course located in Garnett, KS. Entry form and event schedule is posted on the KART website. (www.kart.org).
Come, support this historical track before it’s no longer on the schedule. It takes support in order for it to remain on the schedule. A section of the track has been resurfaced from the sprint track to the bridge prior to flat iron. We look forward to seeing everyone and any new faces interested. The track is part of the North Lake Park, has a sprint track to allow kids or sprint karts after the races & Golf Course. Bring your sprint karts and play in the evening after the road races are completed or bring some golf clubs and come play golf with me Saturday evening!Happy Days BBQ will be on site for concessions. Questions, contact me at either 785-304-9701 or normracer@gmail.com

Should be some good eating at the concessions, will have breakfast and lunch! If I were you, I would plan on eating it…. Lunch will be delicious and B&G’s for breakfast… Weather appears to be cool, so bring your pants and long sleeves! Let me know if you have any questions, will be pretty tied up the next couple days with setting up the track & the real job, not sure I will be on the forum…

Anyone interested in purchasing Hoosier tires at HPT, I will have some available to sell. If you know what you want and would like to place an order I can order and deliver to the track. I will be putting an order in this week or next.
I currently have some 22150 in R60 & R60A & 22450 in R60, which is what most laydowns run. Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing some tires for the nationals. I only have a limited quantity remaining, so if you think you will need some Hoosier tires at HPT, feel free to let me know and I can get you taking care of. Feel free to PM me via this site or you can contact me direct at 785-304-9701, please leave a message if I don’t answer.
Thanks

Have you contacted Russell Karting?
You might look into trying the Hoosier R60, I honestly don’t know how they actually compare to SL4. I’m seen a lot of guys run them in sportsman and have great success.

FYI, After discussing with Jim Edginton & the board of directors. Based on this weekends forecast we feel it’s in the best interest to reschedule this weekends Lake Garnett race. Garnett will still hold the June 9th & 10th date, but will also move into the open slot created when we lost the 2nd HPT. Mark your calendars, the 2nd Garnett race will be scheduled for September 29th & 30th. Didn’t feel all the work & expenses that go into Garnett would warrant the lack of participation. It would be extremely difficult for all the water cooled engines to get the water to temp. That and the calls I received made this revision the right move for the series. Thank you all for your understanding & sorry for the short notice.
