Once you get your brakes fixed there’s no reason you couldn’t find a track and go racing. I’ve been fairly competitive in a ’98 Trackmagic w/modified Honda for the past 3 1/2 seasons. Sometimes 2nd, sometimes 8th. But that’s usually the driver’s fault…

Just an observation, but if the IKF is still the governing body in which the NW Gold Cup is raced under, why are there so many competitors not wearing neck protection as required by IKF rules?

I think Northern California and Southern Oregon are keeping 80cc racing on life support. Obviously they scrounged up enough karts to make a “championship” class. It was killing me to open my Race Monitor app. and see 4-6 karts competing.

Our club races regularly have 10-15 shifters but when the IKF Gold Cup rolls through here there are maybe 5-6 running. That includes the two locals that show up… I will say this, the Can-Am Series has diluted the fields here in the NW. There aren’t enough racers to keep two regional series healthy.

I’m not sure a Chonda OR an LO206 would be good for you based on your body weight. In my opinion, a two stroke, like the PRD Fireball, might be better for you. I think you would be quickly frustrated with the lower performance of those 4 cycle engines, even when you are just running laps for fun.

Have you ever looked at SGM? They seem to be gaining a strong foothold here in the NW. (Just an observation. I race a Honda.)
