That’s pretty funny. I use 35 chain for the exact same reasons that Mike uses 219 chain ! Plus the 35 chain and sprockets are less expensive. My chain of choice is RLV gold on gold.

I did not go through IKF. I used info that was available generally to the public. My issue is not with IKF, they have offered their resources and of course I will certainly utilize them but I’m just trying to get a general feeling of the karting community in the region beyond the scope of those associated with sanctioning bodies. I do not want this to be a “us vs. them” situation. It is time that karters take a little responsibility in looking after the health of the sport.

I need contact info for kart clubs and tracks in IKF Region 7 ( So-Cal and Nevada), I have Az. info. I would really appreciate help on this. Particularly looking for individuals in charge.

I am available to anyone, any club, any interested party to help promote this concept. I put together an interesting plan to get a Regional championship going in the region, sent it out to whatever contacts I could find and only had one response…..which was positive. Let’s get this sport healthy again !!!

The 1040 axle is pretty much the standard width. I use a 40mm rear axle, 1040 width, 80 mm hubs ( also use 50 mm hubs ) and have no problem going to the 55″ max.  We also run 6″ width rear tires BUT we mount them on 210/212 wide rims ( usually used for 7.10 wide tires). This wider rim gives a stiffer sidewall and tends to free up the kart. Very common to use this set-up on 4 cycles, both WF and LO206.

Walt, no doubt people try stuff in secret. Great, keep it a secret and don’t spread BS thoughts that are meaningless. I guarantee people trying this are wasting time, money, and effort, yet this concept will give people thinking of entering the sport reason to doubt their ability due to these far out ego building statements.

I’m not a certified jet engine and aircraft tech, people who know me are aware of my knowledge and ability. I’ve been around racing my entire adult life and an blessed to know some great engine minds. ( I’m 68 ) I know BS when I see it! Don’t mean this to be a personal attack in any way, just trying to keep grassroots racing growing. Comments such as yours belongs in the clone trick of the week, something for nothing category.

Best way to be fast in a LO206 ( or anything for that matter ) is seat time. Best way to spend money in karting.

I regard posts offering BS ways to make things “better” the equal to falsely shouting “fire” in a theater. This causes racers new to the sport to think they are getting bankrolled to last place on the grid rather than realizing seat time is the key to better their performance. There is always the guy “with the answer”  for those that feel they can buy their way to the front. It especially infuriates me when discussed in the LO206 forums. There is no magic diet pill!!!

Only “magic dust” I ever heard of that was effective was in the hands of Cheech & Chong !!

You guys are talking foolishly. What you are looking for is something that does not exist. The only thing faster you will find with such nonsense is shorter engine life. Cripes !!!!

Tight spots in chain may be related to the split sprockets. Try to get the “splits” even at both cuts. Some can be a bugger. Once you get used to working with split sprockets it’s not too bad. Chassis wise you want free but not loose. That inside rear must give up traction. As David said, SMOOTH !!!

After studying the pic it looks like it can be reversed or flipped and mount to the angled crossmember behind seat. That makes sense. Where it is mounted in pic is not very smart.

That seat strut greatly limits engine placement/mounting fore and aft. I’ve never seen one like that and can’t believe it came from a frame mfr. Not saying I’ve seen all but that’s a terrible design.

I highly recommend a rib protector. The ribs can get pretty tender, especially if you are new to karting. When you start riding bicycles your butt will be very tender for the first month, same applies to your ribs in karting.

I have put LO206 and WF engines on just about every popular and some not so popular karts out there. There are idiosyncrasies for sure but with a little patience and above all research most issues are easily solved.

Biggest headache is the crossmember on some ( mostly older, pre-2005 ) models interfere with chain/axle sprocket. I’ve moved quite a few crossmembers at minimal cost.

Arrow does not supply a bearing or cassette for the 3rd bearing on 4 cycle AX 9″s. I recently refurbished an AX9 4s and removed the third bearing mount and a few other pieces I knew I wouldn’t need on the kart from my previous experience with this model. My all time favorite kart by the way!

I thought the coverage was fine. Karting is far from a great spectator sport and getting too involved with personalities is just drama. Leave that to Kart Life. Showing the in kart action was great as far as sparking interest.

Only one left is “Animal”. I think the word “Briggs” is considered offensive on that site.

Since the announcement of the Briggs Weekly Racing Series I have seen a tremendous increase in LO206 interest for a Senior class and as a result the Phoenix Kart Racing Assoc. (PKRA) will begin racing a Sr. LO206 class in May at our club races in conjunction with the Briggs Series. This will make a great addition to our growing 4 cycle classes, LO206 Cadet, and World Formula Medium and Masters. These classes make up the largest percentage of racers at our track with the WF classes fielding over 20 karts on average with a high count of 32 at last years Surfers Classic.

      THANKS BRIGGS !!!!!
